Poi Dog Deli Opens 

Looking for a great sandwich that comes with popcorn and a pickle spear, fresh salad or a Hawaiian craft beer in the District? Check out the newly opened Poi Dog Deli located in the Henry Street Shops. They're open from 11 am to 7 pm and closed on Tuesdays.  Order in or take out. 808-329-2917. 
Hawaii Kuauli Pacific & Asia Cultural Festival

There's always something new and exciting happening in Historic Kailua Village!

Everyone is invited to the first annual Hawaii Kuauli Pacific & Asia Cultural Festival from May 18-20 at the Courtyard Marriott King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel. Events include cultural workshops, fashion show, hula competition and a Hawaii Kuauli Marketplace.

Kokua Kailua   

Make plans to spend a beautiful Sunday afternoon at KVBID's Kokua Kailua with local vendors, artists and musicians in Historic Kailua Village. On Sunday, May 20, Alii Drive is the place to be from 1 pm to 6 pm for a festive, pedestrian-only outdoor Kokua Kailua marketplace that makes for a family friendly experience. Don't forget that leashed dogs are welcome to stroll too!.  

    
Hawaiian Sunset Saturdays    

The community is invited to gather on the last Saturday of the month (Saturday, May 26) at the Coconut Grove Marketplace on Alii Drive from 5:30 to 6:30 pm to celebrate Kona's spectacular sunset with live Hawaiian music and beautiful hula performed by Halau Ka'eaikahelelani, under the direction of kumu hula Yuki Ka'ea Lyons and Lily Kahelelani Lyons Dudoit.
 
Bring a lawn chair or beach mat and enjoy the outdoor lawn setting as the sun begins its journey over the horizon. Lots of parking is available; coolers are not permitted.  

As Hawaiian Sunset Saturday comes to a close, extend your evening at one of many nearby restaurants. Hawaiian Sunset Saturday is presented at no charge by KVBID with support from Hawaii Tourism Authority.
