Welcome to the 2018-19 Puesta del Sol school year from your PTA Board of Directors!
This is Grace Muro-Aje and Anne Wilson, your PTA co-presidents for the 2018-19 school year. It's an honor to welcome new and returning families to Puesta del Sol Elementary School. We are excited to join you in our PTA's mission -- to support, reinforce, enhance and promote our children's Spanish immersion experience and overall education, health and well-being. We look forward to meeting you this year and making it a memorable year for our children.
This school year, our PTA goal is to invest in the best educational and social development programs for our kids as well as improving our community engagement and involvement. To start toward our goal of 100% involvement, we invite you to join our community by
becoming a PTA member. You will have a voice and vote in our decisions as a PTA. Member benefits also include access to a school directory, discounts at popular places, and other
member benefits. To join, simply complete the Back to School Forms highlighted below and save the date for our first general membership meeting on September 26th at 7:00 PM. Your VOICE counts and we welcome it!
Additionally, we ask you to help us achieve our mission through volunteering and financial support. This year's
"Big Give" campaign hopes to have 100% involvement. Take a look at how we plan to support our students with your generous donations on our
fundraising information page. School and classroom grants, educational enrichment programs like Passport Club, classroom experiences, Spanish Immersion through the Arts (SITA), Art Appreciation and many more help make the quality of our school a step above the rest.

The Big Give is Coming Soon!
|
|
|
 Starting 9/7-9/28 we are implementing our NEW fundraising approach at Puesta del Sol.
The PTA is trying to raise $175,00 to continue to fund our programs like our Amity interns, numerous classroom experiences and classroom enrichment activities.
Raising funds each year has historically required multiple annual fundraising events that demand a ton of resources and countless volunteer hours. We know there is a better way.
We are asking each family to donate $450 per STUDENT to reach our goal. This is the only time we will ask you to donate...just once!! It breaks down to $1.25 per day. One less latte a week.
Spend as much on education support as you do on your student's sports and activities! Our students are worth it and so is our incredible staff.
You can donate now through the Back to School Forms.

First Day Coffee for Kindergarten Parents

Join other Kindergarten parents under the covered area for coffee and donuts after escorting your Kindergartner to their class lines. Meet new Kindergarten parents, share summer stories and build community!

Back to School Forms are Ready!
|
|
|
The beginning of the school year means it's time to complete your Back to School Forms!
Get started with the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and sign up to become a PTA member at Puesta del Sol! You will also be able to update your child's information in the online directory, pre-order yearbooks and sign up for volunteer positions. We're looking forward to another great year and Back to School Forms are the first step!

Bellevue PTSA Back to School Fair
|
|
|
Saturday, 9/15 from 10:00am - 4:00pm @ Bellevue High School
This district-wide community fair will have representatives from community partners and the Bellevue School District. Get information on after-school programs, human services, district offerings and so much more! There will be over 60 organizations represented and many parent education sessions for K-12 families. 18th Annual Walkathon: Save the Date!

Friday, 9/28 from 3:35pm - 6:00p.m.
Mark your calendars now to join us at our 18th annual Walkathon. This festive, after-school event is our largest community-building event of the year where families, teachers and staff join together to get some exercise and have some fun. It is truly a great way to meet and re-connect with families in our school community. Please
RSVP for each child attending Puesta del Sol, even if your child will not participate.
We need a YES or NO for EVERY STUDENT, so we know where they should go after school on the day of the event.

Dads: Get Involved with Watch D.O.G.S
|
|
|
Watch D.O.G.S. is a father involvement program of the National Center for Fathering.
Statistics show that kids develop more fully socially, physically, academically and emotionally when they have a positive male role model actively engaged in their life. Since school is a significant chunk of your kid's life, check out the
Watch D.O.G.S. program at Puesta del Sol. Look for information on watch D.O.G.S. at our September school events like the Ice Cream Social, General Membership Meeting and Walkathon. Contact Puesta del Sol parent Tyler Parris with questions at

Fall Mariners Night with Puesta del Sol
|
|

 Saturday, 9/29 at 6:10pm, Rangers vs. Mariners
Join us for Mariners night with Puesta del Sol! We have a few rows reserved together. Cost is $15/ticket. Ken Griffey Funko Pops will be given out to the first 20,000 fans.
If you would like to sit with another family, please place one order for the entire group.

Thank you to the over 150 volunteers - both from the Puesta del Sol community and especially those neighbors who don't have children in school here - who selflessly gave their time and energy on Saturday to help our teachers and staff to prepare for the arrival of students this week!
