Extended Assembly for Yearbooks
Yearbooks from the 2017-2018 school year will be distributed during assembly tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 7. The assembly will take place at the end of the day from 2:31 to 2:55 p.m.

Our girls varsity basketball team has a new assistant basketball coach! Mr. John Rogers will be assisting the program. He has two boys currently attending CCS, one is a junior and the other is in eighth grade. Coach Rogers is moving over from the boys Junior High program to work
with the girls varsity and JV teams. Welcome, Coach Rogers!

JH/SH Campus Principal's Panel
The JH/SH Principal's Panel is a valuable time of communication between the JH/SH principal and parent representatives from grades seventh through twelfth. The purpose of this time is for the principal to communicate and clarify recent happenings and solicit input from the panel on various issues. The panel is comprised of two parents from each grade level and members serve for two school years. The panel meets once a month on Thursdays from noon to 1 p.m., from September through April (with the exception of December). A light lunch is provided.
We are in need of volunteers to represent 7th, 9th, 11th, and 12th grades on the 2018-2019 Principal Panel.

Elementary Wishlist Table
Every year, the Elementary teachers have wish lists of items that are needed for their classrooms. Parents interested in signing up for certain items can find the lists at the
front hallway by the office at the Elementary campus.

The 8th grade class is selling Gold Canyon Candles to earn money for their Gettysburg/Washington, D.C. class trip. All candles are $20. They burn evenly, have safety wicks and cool wax, and they burn for up to 130 hours with a room-filling fragrance. The candle scents are the following: Pomegranate, Apple Leaf, Mulled Cider, Cranberry Orange, Dakota Fig, Sugar Cookie, Sweet Pea, Vanilla Scones, Maple Bark, Lavender Chamomile, Juniper Berries, Spruce & Citrus, Cozy Christmas, Cinnamon Vanilla, and Cinnamon Pinecones. The candle sale begins September 10 and ends October 1. If you would like to purchase candles, please contact an 8th grade student or Mrs. Granger.
*Payment is due at the time of ordering. You may pay with cash or a check made out to CCS.

Register Now!
SmartPrep
is a series of high-quality, affordable workshops designed to help students prepare for the ACT college entrance exam. Led by
Mrs. Gina Smearsoll, these workshops will be held in the Science Center at the JH/SH campus. Workshops started August 28.

Vessels of Honor Outreach Dance Ministry, Inc.
Starting September 10, Vessels of Honor Outreach Dance Ministry, Inc. will be holding classes every Monday from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Elementary campus. The cost is a one-time fee of $50, which will also cover the T-shirts and supplies. For more information, contact Mrs. DJ Hummons at 513-539-0480.

Fitness training is on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:15 p.m. - 4:45 p.m.
*This is open to all Junior High and Senior High students.

Volunteers are needed throughout the week
from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the JH/SH campus and from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the elementary campus.

"Girls Who Code"
Several in our CCS community are interested in starting a "Girls Who Code" club on our JH/SH campus. This national organization provides opportunities for students to "join a safe and supportive environment of peers and role models where girls learn to see themselves as computer scientists." In addition to learning how to code and hanging out with friends, the students work together to use computer science to solve real-life problems that they care about. We are looking for a parent or community member (a female, of course) to lead this club.
The club is free and the organization provides a myriad of resources. The goal is to open a summer camp next year and prepare our female students for an opportunity to intern through the Summer Immersion Program in the future.
*If you are interested in helping, or know someone who might be perfect in this role, please contact Gina Smearsoll for more information. You don't have to be a computer scientist! You can learn right along with the "Girls Who Code."

Sophomores & Seniors
On Tuesday, Sept. 11, Jostens representatives will be meeting with the sophomore and senior classes in the chapel during assembly to give them information on ordering class rings, graduation caps/gowns, and invitations.
On Friday, Sept. 14, Jostens representatives will return to pick up the orders in the athletic lobby
before school and
during lunch.

Once orders are received, Jo Lynn Veldkamp will contact you by text or email to let you know your orders are available for pick-up at the JH/SH campus front office during normal summer office hours: 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.
