More than $17,000 raised during CHS S.P.U.D. Week

Students and faculty members at Canyon High School, and in the CHS feeder pattern, have been raising money for the annual S.P.U.D (Students Performing Unselfish Deeds) Week. This year’s total was $17,382.  Read the full story here.

5th Annual Night of Stars Awards

Comal ISD’s District Teachers of the Year are on the Stairway to Success at the 5th Annual Night of Stars. The event, recognizing the district’s teachers of the year along with many other award winners, was held at the Village Venue at Creekside on Feb. 27.

Comal County Junior Livestock Show

More than 400 Comal ISD students participated in the 50 th  Annual Comal County Junior Livestock Show at the Fairgrounds in New Braunfels Feb. 28-March 3.   Months of hard work from students raising their chickens, goats, hogs, lambs, sheep, rabbits and cattle, culminated in a show and sale at the event.   Students involved in the Ag Mechanics portion of the show also created unique items, such as an 11-foot welding trailer two Canyon Lake High school seniors, Wyatt Garnett and Bailey Welty, crafted out of a 1948 Chrysler New Yorker. Canyon High Air Force JROTC receives highest score possible during assessment The Air Force Junior ROTC instructors and cadets of Canyon High School earned an overall unit assessment score of “Exceeds Standards,” the highest rating attainable, during its evaluation on Feb. 27.    “Canyon High School instructors, MSgt Edward A. Garcia and Lt. Col. Timothy J. Biltz, created a dynamic and supportive learning environment coupled with an excellent community outreach,” said Maj. Donald Bailey, Region-3 Director. “The instructors provided outstanding leadership in administering the cadet centered citizenship program. The Canyon High School cadets performed exceptionally well and took great pride in leading and accomplishing their unit goals. The Canyon High School Air Force ROTC citizenship program is making a positive impact on the cadets, the school and the community.” Pictured left to right are: instructor Lt.
