Cleveland and Rainier Beach HS Students Take Center Stage with Country Music Performers and Songwriters
|
On Dec. 4, all eyes were on Ina Hong and Regina Landan as they took the stage at the Showbox SODO to perform their original songs next to famous country music names such as Bailey Bryan, Barry Dean, Walker McGuire, and Cassadee Pope at the Country Music Association (CMA) Songwriters Series.

Grants available to Creative Advantage schools
|
The Woodland Park Players is a non-profit community theater company that produces a yearly musical in the North West area of Seattle. We are dedicated to using our proceeds to support arts in education in the greater Seattle area.
We will be offering several $500-$1000 grants for arts in education programs that benefit Seattle area public school students. If your school is interested in starting or growing your existing Theater, Music, Visual Art or Dance programs please inquire.

Applications will be released on Dec 15th, 2018 and are due by Jan 15th, 2019. Recipients will be notified by Feb 15th, 2019.

Music Matters Grants

The Music Matters Fund is managed as a partnership between Music Aid Northwest and the Washington Music Educators Association. Awards from this fund are intended to provide supplemental support to public school music programs in Washington, specifically in schools where funding is scarce. Professional Development on Increasing Inclusivity and Belonging Through Creativity
|
Join us for an exploration of youth development through hands on activities that positively impact students’ sense of belonging and promote inclusivity in a classroom or out-of-school-time program. In this workshop, Arts Corps teaching artists and program staff will lead participants through an exploration of strategies for using creativity to foster positive mindsets across programs, age groups and venues, and the role creative youth development plays in achieving greater justice and equity in education.
Clock hours will be offered.

Intersections Comedy Festival -Invitation for Youth Performers
Intersections: A Celebration of Seattle Performance is a comedy festival focused on equity, inclusion, and representation. Our next festival will run in March 21-24, 2019 at Youngstown Cultural Arts Center. The festival features performers in improv, sketch, stand-up, spoken word, music, theatre, dance, burlesque, drag, storytelling, and more! Intersections focuses on inclusion in terms of race, gender, disability, and LGBTQIA+. We hope these performances bring new voices to the forefront, and spark conversation and action for social justice and representation in our community. We welcome your perspectives, your ideas, and any input you have for 2019! If you'd like to be involved, feel free to

Central District Forum for Arts and Ideas

Central District Forum for Arts and Ideas (CD Forum) would like to invite you and your students to the following Showing Out events in 2019.
Showing Out: The Word! Untied and Untethered
Black Writers, Poets, Screenwriters, Novelists, Playwrights, Spoken Word Artists and Wordsmiths!
Matinee Event Date: February 15th, 2019 (Fri) at 11:30am – approx. 1 hr-1.5 hour engagement
Shows are recommended for youth 12 years and older.
CD Forum events encourage discussion and interactions with performers and audiences and we are open to talkbacks and/or brief workshops with students as part of your arts curriculum.
Admission Fee: $5.00/per student and/or staff as part of school rate.
Please contact us if you have any concerns or questions about this fee and would like to bring your class to these events.
