St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish
Bringing People Into A Growing Relationship With Jesus Christ
Welcome Father Gary Mayer!
This weekend we welcome Father Gary Mayer to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton! Prior to coming to St. EAS, he was the pastor at Immaculate Conception Parish in Charles City and Saint Michael Parish in Nashua for the last six years. Father Gary Mayer grew up in Stacyville, Iowa and has been a priest for eleven years. For five years, Father Gary was assigned to Dubuque, IA, first as an associate pastor at Holy Ghost, Holy Trinity, and Sacred Heart parishes (now Holy Spirit Parish) and then at Resurrection Parish. While in Dubuque he also was a member of the faculty and the chaplain of Wahlert Catholic High School. Father Gary's parents live in Stacyville, Iowa and his brother's family in Saint Ansgar, Iowa. Please help us give him a warm welcome this weekend and keep him in your prayers during this transition!
Update From Father Mark
Thank you all for your support for me and the parish during my years as pastor. I appreciate your cards, gifts and prayers.
I'm all settled in at Villa Raphael where I now live with 14 other priests.

Pray
The US Bishops are urging all Catholics to respond to the coronavirus outbreak. We at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish pray this prayer every week during our staff meeting. We invite you to pray with us.
SHARE
Since SEASP is a tithing parish, 5% of all our parish income is distributed to non-profit organizations. The Social Justice Committee determines which organizations receive your donations. During the last fiscal quarter, including April, May and June, the following organizations were recipients of that tithe.
Catholic Worker House - $2000
Discovery Living - $1500
Habitat for Humanity - $2500
Metro Catholic Outreach - $2900
HACAP - $900
St Stephen's Catholic Youth Center, UNI - $2200
Mercy Foundation - $500
Family Promise - $250
Bridgehaven - $250
These agencies really appreciate your generosity and support. Thanks you so much!

Arts and Environment Team Help
Our Arts and Environments team is a big part of our parish. A team often behind the scenes, we don’t even realize all they take care of. They are responsible for making sure the church is decorated and changed for our Liturgical seasons. The team also helps to support our Faith Formation team at bigger Masses for Confirmation and First Communion. They are looking for a few new members to the team to help with prep, planning, shopping and decorating throughout the year. Ideally a team member would be able to be at most monthly meetings. The team meets one time a month for an hour to plan with occasional working meetings for decorating or updating things. What a great opportunity for a creative gift to shine! If you have questions or are interested, please reach out to Kelli at kdevries@seasp.org or 319-393-3778.
WITNESS
Join us at "Gather" this weekend!
At St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, we're all about meeting people where they are and authentic hospitality. Since we can’t meet in person for our coffee and donuts, we are offering a new approach to hospitality. Join us for "GATHER - A Virtual Hospitality Experience!"

Beginning this weekend after the 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM Masses, we'll gather over ZOOM for 20 minutes and enjoy each other's company while we talk about the Sunday message.

No registration is needed. Just join us at this link after Mass: GATHER Virtual Hospitality Experience
St. Elizabeth’s Widow/Widower Friends
Our group of friends is still staying connected throughout these unprecedented times through ZOOM. If you've lost a spouse and would like to join our group of friends, we hope you'll join us for our next gathering on Monday, July 20th for our 6 PM ZOOM time. This is just a nice way to get to know and visit with friends. If you interested in joining us on ZOOM send an email to Maureen at moe5240@aol.com.

If you are unsure about ZOOM and/or would just like more information about the group, please call the parish office to leave your name and number and a group member will contact you.
Although we are beginning to open the church for public Masses, we will continue to schedule Baptisms individually outside of the Mass. If you would like more information on arranging a private baptism, please contact Kathy Lester in the Parish Office at klester@seasp.org or 319-393-3778.
