QUICK TIP

APTLY NAMED

These snow geese look like flurries of the cold white stuff as  they wing their
way over ponds  at the  Sacramento Wildlife Refuge,  just 100 miles
from Napa.

Every winter, they gather here to rest and refuel.

Jan. 20-21, 2019

Send Us Your Questions, Help Us Plan an Activity
CanDo is again an active member of the MLK Coalition which plans Napa's very popular community-wide celebration of the life and work of Martin Luther King, Jr. Last year over 1,800 individuals participated in the volunteer and educational activities that were offered.

HERE'S HOW YOU CAN HELP US

One of CanDo's members, a Buddhist nun, has graciously agreed to present a workshop on Buddhism as one of the educational activities on Jan. 21.
We invite you to tell us w hat you'd like to know about Buddhism. What are you curious about?

Please  send us a quick email, and write
 "workshop" in the subject line.

Deadline  to submit your questions is Jan. 4, 2019.

CanDo also invites local nonprofits and organizations to
join our Coalition, which simply means that your name
will be included in our list of supporters and you agree to help us get the word out about this terrific event.
Or you can participate by becoming a sponsor
or by creating a project.

COMPOST  CORNER

PLEASE  DON'T  TAKE  A  HOLIDAY  FROM  RECYCLING

A recycling question from Elli, a CanDo member, struck a chord. She asked:  How can we properly dispose of wrapping paper, tissue paper, boxes (with labels and/or tape) ribbon, plastic envelopes and bubble envelopes? What about paper with foil or glitter?

This prompted terrific information from Tim, our recycling guru from Napa Recycling and Waste Services.

We're exited to share these important, common sense guidelines on how to recycle the holiday spirit.

Read Tim's complete response here.

Email questions about  Curbside Composting or
recycling to  "Compost Corner."

Responses graciously provided
by  Tim Dewey-Mattia,  Napa Recycling &  Waste Services

The Choices We Make

Napa Valley CanDo seeks to inspire and facilitate action  by alerting interested Valley residents about opportunities for service. If you participate as a volunteer in an activity that you learned about through Napa Valley CanDo, whether initiated by CanDo or another organization, please take personal responsibility for your involvement. Use common sense. Only you can determine whether an activity is a good fit, that is to say  compatible with your interests and abilities.
