Meeting called to order by President Rachel Toomey. 

Total attendance; 31, members-19, other Kiwanis members-9, Bob Kemper (N.C), Interclub with Fort Myers Club; Bill Courtwright, Denny Sharma, Vince Moore, Jim Garrison, Jack Hyatt, Tim Jones, Bob Richardson, Phil Gaylord. Guests-3; Speakers Kaitlyn Shaker and Sandra Worth, Bill Grant's wife Shar. 

50/50 winner was Todd Adams. Anyone can participate in the 50/50 and win the instant winnings however only club members are eligible to take chance to pull the ace of hearts if their ticket is drawn.

BUG (Bring Up Grades)-  Rayma C. Page recognition and celebration ceremonies are as follows;
Tuesday December 18th: K-1st grades ceremony 1:15pm-2:15pm in the cafeteria
Wednesday December 19th: 4th-5th grades ceremony 9:15am-10:15am in the cafeteria
Thursday December 20th: 2nd-3rd grades ceremony 9:15am-10:15am in the cafeteria

Seeking volunteers to attend these programs and help celebrate kids! The school takes care of the logistics. Location: 17000 S. Tamiami Trail, Fort Myers, 33908 (239-432-2737). Sign in first in the office with a photo ID, please wear Kiwanis shirts if you have one and your club name tag. 

Oasis Reading Room- (Stewart Ross). Reading will start back up in January. Weekly reading at Orangewood Elementary on Wednesdays (except on designated school holidays) to first and second grade youth. Times are 1:50pm-2:30pm (you have two different youth during this time). Literacy Buddy-Early Learning Coalition-Enroll https://elcofswfl.org  on the application mention you are affiliated with our club. It's not to late to sign up. 

MS Support Group- (Bill Grant), meets 3rd Thursday of the month at St. Hilary Episcopal Church. The holiday party we are assisting with is Dec. 20th. Set up is 2:30pm-4:30pm, event starts 4:30pm. Many hands are needed for this one, please sign up with Bill or on the sign up sheet.

3 members recently volunteered to help prepare winter literacy kits for children in the ReadingPals program at United Way.

                                   SLP's (Service Leadership Programs)
                     
Aktion Club-(Karen Hurst) at LARC. Meets 2nd Tuesday at 8:30am. They had a meeting this morning and made PB&J sandwiches for the homeless.

CKI Club FGCU.  Looking for a club member to take on advisor role for this club. Can you help? See Rachel or Lindsey.

Key Club- ( Harris Segel) Collegiate High on FSW campus.

Builder's Club-( Barbara Hartman, Todd Adams, Ada Trapanese) Cypress Lake Middle School. Meets 1st and 3rd Wednesdays at 4:00pm.  The students raised $282.50 for UNICEF and that is included in the school goal. The club also completed their canned food drive for the FGCU food pantry and Cards for the Troops. All together, 10,000 holiday cards will be sent by the school district this year. 

K-Kids-( Kim Berghs) Littleton Elementary at 2:15pm on Wednesdays 1-2 times per month. 
 
                                      Today's  Program: My Autism Connection, Inc. 

Our presenters today were Kaitlyn Shaker and Sandra Worth. Autism is a developmental disorder that typically appears before a child reaches the age of 3. Autism affects the development of a child's brain, resulting in impaired social functioning, interactions with others, and communication. This agency has over 30 members. They offer two programs: PEERS for age 13-16 and the adult program. They have weekly meetings, attend socials, field trips and have a book club. Volunteers welcome.
