But those who wait on the Lord, Shall renew  their  strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

Word from the Principal - Re: COVID-19
Dear Galloway Families,

I am pleased to inform you that we are ready to welcome back our students on August 18, 2020. Now more than ever, it is important to the Galloway School that our families and staff feel safe when learning and working. We are blessed to be able to offer small class sizes in a very controlled environment. With that said, enrollment will not exceed ten students per classroom and spots are filling up quickly.

Adhering to the physical distancing guidelines, personal protective equipment recommendations and additional sanitation measures, are key factors added in to our daily operations. During this time Galloway remains a place of academic excellence and faithfulness. Be assured that we continuously monitor and adapt to any guidance or requests from the centers for disease control, local health departments, the Texas education agency, and the National Association of Independent Schools.

We WILL reopen school on August 18, 2020 for students unless otherwise determined by State authorities. To address the current COVID-19 environment, we have developed a set of health and prevention measures for all staff, students and visitors and such measures will shift dependent on which level of the COVID-19 Standard Response Protocol the school is operating. This protocol can be found in the "read more" link below.

Galloway administration will monitor internal COVID-19 data and information from the health departments to determine whether the school shall move from one standard response protocol level to another. The factors for such decisions may be subject to change to account for the situation at that time. Parents and staff will receive regular communication to inform them of the current level, number of confirmed COVID-19 cases within the school building via email.

Thank you for supporting our efforts and believing in our mission to ensure each student a safe and healthy environment while delivering academic excellence. Together, we will overcome these challenges and exceed expectations because, as always, we remain Galloway Strong!

Kind Regards,

Robin Williams
Head of School
RE-ENROLLMENT
Did you know that Galloway has a family referral program? As you know, word of mouth is an important way of getting family, friends, and colleagues to learn about our amazing school. We are continually working to educate our community about the advantages that we offer.
The Galloway School would like to ask for your help in the endeavor. If you know anyone who has children from 12 months to Eighth Grade, please encourage them to visit our school. When the new family enrolls and completes their first year here, you will receive a onetime $250 discount off your first month’s tuition on the following school year.
Help us spread the word!

PARENT INPUT REQUEST
Parents,

As the school year approaches, you may be wondering what a typical classroom might look like during the current situation. Fortunately, Galloway has always provided small class sizes and will only need to make minor adjustments to keep our precious children and staff safe.

The Galloway School is also offering a K- 8th grade virtual learning option for those families not yet comfortable with face-to-face instruction. Please note that this virtual instruction is specifically designed for online learning and is not the same as the emergency remote learning provided the last few months of school. I am asking that all K - 8th grade families please complete the PRELIMINARY Parent Instructional Model Preference Survey linked below by July 24, 2020, indicating your preferred environment option. Online enrollment for straight Virtual Learning will open for registration July 27 - August 3.

Please do not hesitate to email if you have questions or concerns.

I look forward to an exciting new year!

TECH LEARNING
Before we get started with our Virtual Learning Program, your child will need some tools to successfully access their lessons and be ready for learning.

Virtual students will need to know how navigate the Galloway Itslearning platform and understand their digital citizenship responsibilities.

Zoom video-conferencing tutorials will be available Tuesday and Thursday evenings starting July 28th for both student and parent or home-learning coach. Please schedule your training by contacting me through e-mail.

FACILITIES - New and Upgraded Additions
Happy July Galloway families!

We've been busy the last few weeks getting the facilities up and running to start a new and exciting year at Galloway! Our most exciting addition will be a brand-new playground for our toddler program! We started construction this week and we hope to have it finished and ready to go by the first day of school. Another improvement project we plan to have in place by the beginning of the school year is a new fence around the perimeter of the school and playgrounds for additional safety for the students. We have already installed a heightened security system in and around the school to bring everything up to date with the best technology available.

To address current COVID-19 guidelines, we are ramping up our efforts to curb any possible contamination or exposure within our school. We are investing in more hand sanitation stations throughout the building along with hanging signs to remind students and staff what are the best ways to protect each other. We will be outfitting the lower school student’s tables with plexi-glass dividers and we will be adding desks in upper school to make social distancing easier.

We know you might have concerns about what is the safest way to re-open the school this fall, and we are trying our best to alleviate as many worries that you may have.

We appreciate your trust in our abilities to offer your child with the best learning experience possible, whether it be in person or online.

The morning routine will start with a little bit of athletic activities before going into some library time, followed by brain puzzles and outdoor play before lunch. The afternoon activities will include drama and engineering on Mondays, Spanish and crafty cooking on Tuesdays, School of Rock and art on Wednesdays, an indoor field trip such as Kona ice truck, movie theater, skate party Thursdays, and Friday Water Day. It’s going to be a great time for the kids! The camp is open to the entire community so spread the word to your friends and neighbors! There are limited spots, so get the word out! We can’t wait to get started on Summer Camp!! Looking forward to seeing your smiling faces again!

Our wonderful cleaning crew deep cleans clases daily and we've partnered with Gulfside Cleaning Services who has been out twice this summer to spray the building with an antiviral fogging system. These proactive preventative measure help to reduce the spread of COVID-19. They all have done an incredibly thorough job and we are lucky to have such hard workers looking out for the safety of our kids!
