February 1, 2019
Happy Friday TRCS! While it was a short two day week for our kids, our staff has been busy all week preparing for a fantastic final term for the 2018-2019 school year. I can't believe it is already February. I am looking forward to a great full week of school ahead!

Mindset thought of the week: “ Do not judge me by my successes, judge me by how many times I fell down and got back up again.” I love this quote by Nelson Mandela. It epitomizes a grit mindset! I think this is a critical lesson for us to learn. Failure can be a great learning tool with the right mindset. To often I see students who are afraid to fail. We need to continue to change this mindset. It is okay to fail as long as we keep trying. Nelson Mandela is reminding us to continue to show grit and get back up!

Have a great weekend and we will see everybody on Monday!

Outdoor School Parent Meeting
All 6th, 7th, and 8th grade parents - please mark your calendar for February 21st to learn about our upcoming trip to Bar M Ranch and how we will work with Trackers Earth to make ODS an awesome week of learning! Since we are attending a new camp, we would like the opportunity to speak to each family about ODS this year, so please make sure you make this meeting. Forms will be sent home in early February, and all forms and payments will be due by the meeting on February 21st at 5:30pm.
Messages of Kindness
In the months of January and February, TRCS is practicing being kinder than necessary. In conjunction with this week's class meeting, we are rolling out a new event focused on kind words. If there is someone who you'd like to shower with compliments, appreciation, or another positive message, you can send them a sweet message along with a lollipop for $1. Your note will be hand delivered during the school day to the person of your choosing on Thursday, January 14th. This is a place for notes of friendship and admiration, but not for romance. Teachers will be screening all messages before delivery, so make sure you're comfortable with and adult reading what you have to say! Students are encouraged to send messages to people outside their normal circle of friends to build strength in our community. Parents, you can have a message delivered to your students, as well! Just fill out the form and send it in along with the fee to our office by Wednesday, February 13th!
