STX Extends Partnership with USA Hockey
STX and USA Hockey extended their partnership which began in 2014. STX will serve as an official equipment supplier of the USA Hockey National Team Development Program and provide equipment to various USA Hockey Programs.
Are NHL Goalies Shrinking?
Not necessarily, but NHL goalies are looking more like their actual size as equipment changes continue in an effort to increase scoring. All NHL goalies will be wearing a smaller chest protector this season.
Ohio State Wardrobe Malfunction
Ohio State has one of the best teams in NCAA women's hockey. So, the fourth-ranked Buckeyes wore brand new all-black uniforms for their matchups with top-ranked Minnesota. But the Buckeyes started the second game with a penalty because their uniform numbers were ruled illegible by referees.

The NCAA men's ice hockey committee created an alternative process which recognizes the the sport's unique professional opportunities. The proposal would allow prospective student-athletes to make informed decisions regarding about pursuing college or pro hockey.

Nash Sports' Founder Ralph Beavis Passes Away at 64
Ralph Beavis went from repairing the palms of hockey gloves for some friends to becoming a manufacturer and supplier of hockey equipment for teams from the NHL to the house league level. Beavis died of a heart attack Oct. 6 at 64.
Beavis was a salesman when he started fixing hockey gear. He officially founded Nash Sports in 1993 and he became a valuable resource for equipment managers at all levels of hockey.

Hockey Collaboration
The collaboration for the purchase of hockey equipment by U.S. hockey dealers between HDA, the National Sporting Goods Association (NSGA) and SDC (Sports Distributors of Canada) continues to grow.
Click here to learn more about how the collaboration works and to fill out an inquiry form to start the process. Members of the collaboration take advantage of access to various products and discounts to help their bottom line.
There is no obligation to complete the form. Criteria used by SDC to determine participation may include a minimum sales volume of $200,000 in annual wholesale hockey products, credit rating, proximity to existing members and meeting certain store standards.

Roy Worters, the former goaltender for the Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Americans and Montreal Canadiens, is the shortest player to play in the NHL. Waters measured 5-feet-3 and played in 484 games from 1925-1937.
