Principal's Message
It was delightful to welcome our angels back to school last week! I hope everyone enjoyed a Christ-filled holiday season and is experiencing an exciting New Year. As we start the second half of the 2018-2019 school year, I am delighted to announce the hiring of Chrissy Waleskowski, who will assume all responsibilities and duties for our Physical Education position. Chrissy is a valuable member of our community, who has worked in many grade levels, subjects, and classrooms as a substitute teacher. She also has three wonderful children at Guardian Angels. Please join me in welcoming her to our staff. You may contact her at cwaleskowski@gaschool.org at any time.

There are many events planned for students and parents in the coming month. Tomorrow afternoon, our annual Spelling Bee will take place for students in grades 5-8. Additionally, on January 18 at 1:00 in the PC Gym, students in grades 4-8 will test their geography skills in our school wide competition. I am always amazed at how well our students perform in these competitions!

Open House is scheduled for January 27 ! We encourage all current and prospective families to attend this showcase event! Please encourage any family member, friend, co-worker, etc. who may be interested in Guardian Angels School to also attend. Additional details for Open House, as well as all events planned during Catholic Schools Week, are listed below.

Next week, details for re-enrollment will be sent to all current families. Please look forward to this communication to be sent through an all school email. As we begin the re-enrollment process at Guardian Angels, I strongly encourage families to apply for tuition assistance through the Catholic Education Foundation. This needs-based scholarship was a major piece to the One Faith, One Hope, One Love campaign from the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. This year, 2 million dollars will be distributed to families of elementary school students for the 2019-2020 school year. To learn more and apply, please visit http://catholicbestchoice.org/k-8-tuition-information/ All families who plan to apply for financial assistance from Guardian Angels must first apply for assistance from this source. The deadline to apply is January 31, 2019 . Last year, over $28,000 was given to Guardian Angels families from the Catholic Education Foundation Tuition Assistance Fund.

Finally, our annual 8th grade vs. seminarians basketball game is scheduled for this Friday, January 11 at 1:15 in the P.C. Gym. All parents are invited to attend.

I look forward to seeing community members throughout all these exciting events and activities!

God Bless,
Corey
