  • Rethinking Reformation Join us as we explore the many different interpretations of the Reformation. Some think Late Medieval Catholicism was backwards and superstitious, while others find it to be a pure expression of folk Christianity. For some, Martin Luther was the hero of the Christian faith, while others claim he destroyed 1500 years of tradition. Some will tell you that John Calvin was a dour and grumpy curmudgeon, while others claim he was a theologian of the heart. Does the Episcopal Church really just exist because Henry the VIII wanted a divorce, or were there other reasons for the English Reformation? In this series, we will identify some of these common narratives, while also attempting to understand the reformers on their own terms. The last two sessions promise to include interactive elements, including art and a "Reformation-Sing-Along." The series is being led by Steve Lloyd and takes place six consecutive Sundays between the services from September 23 to October 28 from 9:15 to 10:15.

    • The Fall Rummage Sale is just around the corner and we will begin with moving our stored rummage from the Mihm's farmhouse to St. Peter's on the morning of Saturday, September 22.  We are looking for volunteers that have vehicles that can tote stuff over (bags and boxes) as well as volunteers that can push carts and move the boxes and bags into the Youth Room.  If you can help, please contact Barbara A at [email protected] .  We welcome those who have not participated in the past.  All rummage work is also a fabulous fellowship activity!  The following Saturday, September 29, we also need volunteers to help with the Parish Hall setup starting at 9AM.  All signup sheets for volunteer opportunities are in the foyer at church by the door.  Don't forget to start gathering your own donations - just remember that we no longer accept furniture or big or tube TVs.
    • INK RECYCLING:  the WSP recycles all manner of ink (empty ink jet and ink tanks, laser cartridges and expired inks).  These go to the Staples and Office Depot rewards programs to help purchase office supplies for church.  Please put your ink recyclables in the box on the table in the church foyer or in the Parish Hall.  If you need to purchase ink - we can do it for you and it keeps our rewards program alive.  Ask Barbara A for more information.
    • ANYONE NEED black HP 564 ink?  We purchased 2 for the printer used by the Early Childhood Program, which then up and died.  The ink was opened but not used.  Original cost was $18 each but will sell it to you for $12 each.  Contact Barbara A.
