Following months of negotiations on the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), then end result is that there will be no changes to the NAFTA chapter regarding business entries to the U.S.
There were a few minor wording changes, but nothing substantive. As such, Canadian and Mexican citizens will be able to continue to enter the U.S. as business visitors and for employment in L-1 or TN status. In addition, there were no substantive changes made to the appendix listing the occupations that are eligible for TN status. Consequently, companies will be able to continue to sponsor individuals in TN status as Engineers, Computer Systems Analysts, Accountants and all of the other TN occupations.
