An update on the future of Camp Kawartha
Lett Architects have come up with some sensational designs for our new dining hall and kitchen! They have incorporated features that make this among the greenest buildings in the world! We are very excited to share these proposed plans with you!

We'll have more details to share coming soon, but if you have any questions please feel free to contact Executive Director Jacob Rodenburg at jrodenburg@campkawartha.ca
PTBOCanada Recognizes Executive Director
You Rock, Jacob! PTBO Canada provided our own Jacob Rodenburg with a You Rock acknowledgement this month. Jacob was nominated by our friend and colleague, Jim Moloney of the Riverview Park and Zoo who gave Jacob a “glowing shout-out” for his vision and ‘inspired leadership’ in creating the Pathway to Stewardship and Kinship Project. Congratulations Jacob for the shout out and thank you Jim for doing the shouting!

Our New Workhorse
Here is our own shout-out of thanks to Dunford’s of Havelock. The new ATV is a very welcome addition to our equipment line-up in the Maintenance Department!

WINTER FUN
Get Outside
It is a cold late winter day. A delicate layer of frost edges the corner of each window and snow covers the landscape. Birds are huddled under eaves and in bushes, fluffing their feathers, reminding you that winter is here for a while yet. Meanwhile, the kids are busy playing on screens, and you are thinking, "I’ve got to figure out some way to get them outside!"

Winter can be a magical time to explore the natural world.  After the winter solstice, the sun climbs higher and the days are longer. Your opportunity for fun is just out your front door. So, grab your hat, mitts, warm boots and winter jacket, and don’t forget the kids!
The Great Backyard Bird Count
Bird Studies Canada wants to learn more about our bird populations and from February 15 th to 18 th they are asking us to be citizen scientists, helping them collect important data.
