Join the IAWF Los Angeles Chapter - Rising Leaders for its first ever Winter Wellness Retreat on Sunday February 10, 2019, nestled in the hills of Topanga Canyon.  

Join us as we collectively explore the mind-body connection, with panels focused on health and wellness, and physical movement of Yoga, Sound Therapy and QiGong Energy Healing.  

This is a unique opportunity to become grounded and connect with yourself, old and new friends, and to set intentions for the new year. This day long retreat will leave you feeling refreshed, renewed, and ready to take on the new year ahead!

IAWF Congratulates Orna Delrahim
We would like to welcome Ms.  Orna Delrahim to The Iranian American Women Foundation's Board of Trustees. The IAWF is proud of her hard work and continuous contributions.

Orna Delrahim is a passionate philanthropist and an active member of the Iranian American community in California. She is Member of Board of Trustees of the Iranian American Women Foundation and the first Persian woman Board of Directors of the Jewish National Fund. She is also a member of the Art Council for Farhang Foundation. Mrs. Delrahim is a supporter of the Pars Equality Center, Visionary Women, Looking Beyond, Wells for Hope, Eretz Cultural Center, and LymeLight Foundation. Orna was born in Shiraz. She left Iran for Vienna when she was 18 and is currently living in Hidden Hills, California with her husband and two children. Along with her family, she is always looking for opportunities to contribute to the community and make a difference for those in need.

The IAWF invites you to join the Iranian American Women of Influence  Soir é on April 13, 2019 at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, CA. The soiree will be celebration of the achievements of the women of Iranian heritage who inspire, influence and empower the community and the society. This event will be an opportunity to honor the contributions of these visionary women who are making a difference in philanthropy, community services, arts and science.


              
 


Azita Aghravi
New York
Azita Aghravi, an Eastern Consolidated principal since 1998, has been a highly successful commercial sales broker for over 20 years. Over the past twelve years she has closed over $1.5 billion of sales of both commercial and residential properties. Ms. Aghravi's particular areas of concentration are elevatored apartment buildings, vacant buildings for hotel or residential development, walk-ups with a strong retail component, office buildings and commercial condominiums. She is a member of The Real Estate Board of New York.

Sunny Sanaz Nassim is originally from Southern California and a partner at Jacobson, Russell, Saltz, Nassim & De la Torre LLP - a boutique Los Angeles-based law firm. Ms. Nassim advises clients in the areas of worldwide intellectual property rights and portfolio expansion, entertainment law and business transactions. Ms. Nassim works with television, film and new-media entertainers, athletes, and small, mid-level and publicly traded corporations. Ms. Nassim loves Southern California where the beach and mountains are always close by.

Nazy Kaviani is the founder of Diaspora Arts Connection, an organization dedicated to promoting music, arts, and culture of Iran and beyond, with an emphasis on introducing, assisting, and giving a stage to new artists and artists in distress. Each year, Diaspora Arts Connection produces dozens of programs to celebrate and promote Iranian music, theater, dance, film, arts, and books. In her professional career, Nazy has been a director, CEO, project manager, and most recently, a human rights worker.

Hon. Nooshin Meshkaty is Computer Scientist and Electronics Specialist who has built her nearly 30 year career in Aerospace Industry. She is currently a Senior Engineer and Technical Group Leader for Manufacturing and Logistics of Flight Electronics at Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). During her tenure at JPL, she has worked on many Flight Instruments that have launched and successfully transferred science to the us. Examples include JUNO (Jupiter Polar Orbiter), Mars Curiosity (Mars Space Laboratory) and many more projected such as Mars 2020. Nooshin has also been an active member of her community. She was an elected member of the Beverly Hills School Board of Education 2005-2009, serving both as Board Member and Board President. She has been active member of many social and civil councils and committees including but not limited to Traffic and Parking Commission for the City of Beverly Hills (active position), and the Technology Adhoc Committee for the City of Beverly Hills. Nooshin also currently serves on the Board Directors for GIRL Inc., Los Angeles Chapter. Additionally, she is a member of the Education Council & Nowruz Committee for Farhang Foundation, member of Iranian American Women Foundation and member of the Visionary Women Circle.

Shawn Dastmalchi, PhD

In the past 19 years, Shawn has contributed to academic and commercial sectors in several industries including life science, medical device, health IT and Internet. Prior to Apixio, he was the Director of Informatics Business at Carl Zeiss Meditec, Inc., where he was responsible for sales, marketing, service and support of Zeiss' health IT solutions in the United States market. In his prior role at Zeiss, Shawn was responsible for Cirrus HD-OCT that is the Zeiss' highest grossing diagnostic device product. Prior to Zeiss, Shawn held senior positions at Alpha Innotech Corp. and aPeerance Inc. Shawn has also served as a business strategy consultant at several companies including Yahoo Inc. In addition to his industry experience, Shawn has 9 years of academic experience at UCSF and UC Berkeley where he has co-authored several publications and grants. Shawn received his undergraduate degree in Genetics from UC Davis and his PhD in the multi-disciplinary field of Vision Science from UC Berkeley.
