Admissions Newsletter - October 2018
Saint John's has been a flurry of activity the past month. We've welcomed back our returning students along with the newest class of freshmen to our school. The first football game under the lights was held on September 21st on the recently renovated Pioneer Field. It was wonderful to see so many future Pioneers on campus during the first Open House on September 29th followed by a community wide celebration with alumni, families and friends at PioneerFest later that same day.

A second Open House will be held on Tuesday, October 16th from 6:00pm to 8:30pm with an Activities Fair in Coaches Pavillion beginning at 5:30pm. A light dinner will be served in Salem Student Commons beginning at 5:30pm. Sage Dining will showcase some of the menu items offered to our students at lunch.

Mass of the Holy Spirit &
Matriculation Ceremony
The Saint John's community celebrated the Mass of the Holy Spirit and Matriculation Ceremony for the Class of 2022 on Friday, September 14th. This ceremony truly marked the beginning of our newest Pioneers' journey here at Saint John's. Each freshman was presented with their class pin by a current senior student.
New Student Reception for Parents
Parents of the Freshman Class of 2022 and recent transfer students enjoyed a reception in Salem Student Commons on Wednesday, September 19th. The evening was a wonderful way to welcome new parents to the Saint John's family. A special thank you to George '92 & Meg Belsito and Karyn Polito & Steve Rodalakis along with Headmaster Alex Zequeira for hosting the event.
Freshman Activities Fair
The Class of 2022 attended a freshman activity fair in September where over 53 extracurricular clubs and activities at Saint John's were showcased. While classes end at 2:18 pm each day, clubs and activities allow students to further expand their horizons beyond our core academic curriculum.
Freshman Retreat
Staffed by campus ministers and senior leaders (Big Reds), the day long retreat at local Catholic parishes is an introduction to "Why we retreat" here at Saint John's. Students reflect on and answer questions about their freshman experience thus far and look at what the "Ideal Saint John's Man" looks like four years from now when they graduate.
