DACA wind down begins

On 7/28/2020 The White House announced that it will begin to wind down legal protections for hundreds of thousands of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients while it conducts a review of the program.  This follows the recent Supreme Court decision that held that the president could not end the DACA program in the manner in which he had sought to do so.
As part of the DACA wind down the administration announced that the Department of Homeland Security will reject all first-time DACA applications and will limit the protection and EADs for those renewing their DACA applications to one year, rather than two years.
Further, Dreamers will no longer be issued Advance Parole documents to permit them to travel internationally and then return to the U.S.
This immigration alert is being sent only to company representatives.  Please share with your foreign national employees.
