Shed Light on the Data
According to the most recent population estimates released by the U.S. Census Bureau, North Dakota's population increased by 4,901 people from 2017 to 2018. Most of the increase in population is attributed to natural growth (more births than deaths).
Igniting  Youth with New Ideas .
North Dakota has been identified as a state that lacks access to digital technology resources. Many families and communities in rural North Dakota do not have reliable internet thus limiting their abilities and knowledge with current technology. Since 2017, through a partnership between Microsoft and 4-H, North Dakota teens are combining their skills with the power of technology to bring people together, solve problems, and create economic possibilities in their communities via an opportunity called "The 4-H Tech Changemakers initiative". In this article, Lindsey Leker, PhD, lead specialist for 4-H Science programming for North Dakota State University Extension, discusses the initiative and what these youth leaders are doing specifically in Cass County and the surrounding areas
