Learn to love the learning!
Now how did it get to be September?!?! That’s what your trusty Beyond the Hype (BTH) 2018 planning team is asking themselves as work progresses on organizing the biennial one-day, professional development conference.

Coordinating an event for your place of work is one thing -- but when you bring together nine volunteers to organize a conference after-hours, there’s going to be some challenges.

Check out the learning behind the madness in this month’s blog here.
Jump start your pro-D - at home!

Want to prove YOU'RE ready?
CPRS offers three main ways for practitioners to demonstrate their knowledge and recognize their accomplishments. One is the Public Relations Knowledge (PRK) Exam - great for recent grads, junior practitioners, or those without any formal PR education who want to stand out.

Want more info? Check out this 2016 article, Want to Prove You're Ready?, by fellow CPRS-VI member and PRK grad Elana Ilott.

Interested? The next exam date is Sept. 29! (Final date to register is  Sept. 26  (subject to location availability).

Save the date - Beyond the Hype 2018
Beyond the Hype (BTH) brings together public relations practitioners and leaders from across British Columbia to connect with each other and to learn about emerging trends and issues affecting our community of practice. From digital media experts pushing the boundaries of new media, top political commentators with an eye on the trends, to local practitioners with a finger on the pulse of our communities.

Since the first conference in 2008, BTH has continued to re-invent and bring to the forefront trends and issues of concern to the community and field of practice. Now, a decade since its launch, BTH 2018 will focus on trends affecting public relations in Canada, how to leverage future opportunities and meet challenges head-on.

BTH is the CPRS-VI's keystone event, organized by seasoned practitioners and leaders who volunteer their time, expertise, and knowledge to help strengthen and nurture the Island's public relations community.
When: Friday, November 23 from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Mixer following!)
Registration: Opens Early October!
