2017 has been an Uncommon Year!
In many ways this has held for us some surprises and and some wonderful moments.

Artist keep working, and although we have had fires and seen difficult times for our friends in our Sanctuary City Los Angeles, we keep reaching out with our dances.

We have been immersed in 10 school residencies  since September and preparing to tour in January.
Since the San Pedro Festival of the Arts in Sept, we have worked with 10 schools!
Come visit our company news page to see the details. We are excited to be a member of the Arts Community Network of the Los Angeles Unified School District .. Come read where!

Our Mission

Los Angeles Choreographers & Dancers  creates and presents innovative dance works with imagination, feelings, and communication being the inspiration for every piece. Whether presenting a concert performance or enriching the lives of LA area students through arts education, we believe that our work sparks imagination, creativity, self-discovery, and empowers our diverse audience members to expand their understanding of life.

This year has again included both outside and indoors performances. At our own San Pedro
Festival of the Arts in San Pedro we presented 20 other dance companies in a different outside location called Crafted at the Port of LA as the Ports O' Call is currently being rebuilt. The recent new work funded in part by the Bruce Geller Memorial Prize "A Jewish Child's Story" was also awarded a grant from LA Stage Advance (City of LA and the NEA) and it put us in residence at several city theaters where our expenses there were paid as we finished and gave a performance of the new work, and were able to get photos and a video. An upcoming grant from Culver City will help towards a new digital art component by Audri Phillips, who also did the media for "Invasion" and "Tap Dance Widows Club". We were able to add Part I of this new piece for four of our school residences. It is about my dreams when I was a child, and included both biblical characters and ones popular at the time- K'ton ton, Wonder Woman, and of course a ballerina. My own grandparents were immigrants, and the story is again unfortunately topical. Part II was selected for the new Orange County Dance Festival last spring. It is a work about the holocaust.

We are preparing ALL the works mentioned and our full length signature version of  "The Tennis Dances" for 2 different programs presented by the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District in 2 of their 500 seat theaters. This will be on Jan. 20 and 21. Call 702-507-3989 or 702-507-3459 for more info on these FREE performances. Later that week we fly to Philadelphia where we are sponsoring Spotlights at the Prince Theater for the International Performing Arts For Youth. There we do excerpts from "The Tennis Dances".

All the grants mentioned above and below need matching!
Please send us a check or use our paypal link, as all the public grants require a match. Without your help we cannot achieve our goals. The links are in the bloc below. And for those of you that cannot make it to Las Vegas, Philadelphia, or Culver City next month, here are links to the COMPLETE works.
