PAVING FOR PROGRESS
O Avenue NW

Construction Update: 9-14-18
This Saturday (Sept 15), you will see more pavement placed between Ellis Blvd and 9th St.  Over the next week, crews will also be preparing the subgrade (first layer) in advance of paving between 9th St and 11th St, with the possibility of placing new pavement in this area by the end of next week.  Crews will also continue to work on sidewalks, driveways, and topsoil between 16th St and 11th St NW.

O Ave Closure at Edgewood
As you know, O Avenue recently closed at Edgewood Road. This closure will remain in effect for the next 3 - 4 weeks. This work is associated with a new multi-use trail under construction on the east side of Edgewood Road, stretching from O Avenue NW to Ellis Blvd NW. The closure taking place at O Avenue is to update traffic signals, and to install new sidewalk/ADA improvements to ensure people have access to the new trail.

With O Avenue being closed at 13th Street, we have suggested several detour routes for residents to get back onto either Edgewood Road, Ellis Blvd, or F Ave:

North of O Ave, detour routes include: 20th Street to Zika Ave to 18th to Ellis Blvd.
South of O Ave, detour routes include: Highwood Drive to Belmont Pkwy; or Woodside Drive to Westwood Drive.

During this period of time, please be mindful of travel speeds, as there will be more traffic than typical in these residential areas, and we encourage folks to be patient and exercise caution during this inconvenience.

Emergency service vehicles (fire, ambulance, PD) have all been notified of the road conditions and will still be able to access all properties.

If you have any questions, please let us know!
