Following the success of his 2015 HEC-RAS 5.0 course held in Italy, we are excited to have former HEC-RAS Development Team Member  Chris Goodell of WEST Consultants in Melbourne to teach this course. Chris is the author of "The RAS Solution" and "Breaking the HEC-RAS Code" and will be assisted by local hydraulic modeller Krey Price.

HEC-RAS 5.0 has just been released and is now available for free download! What better time to learn 2D modelling using the new version of HEC-RAS? This intensive 3-day course focusses on 2D model development in HEC-RAS. We invite you to advance your career and further your hydraulic modelling capabilities by joining us for this engaging, interactive training workshop in April and May 2016.

The course will prepare attendees to build, run, view, and interpret 2D and coupled 1D/2D models using HEC-RAS 5.0. In addition, the course will also include an introduction to sediment transport capabilities within HEC-RAS as well as presenting the results of several recent benchmarking studies comparing HEC-RAS 5.0 to other 2D models, including TUFLOW and MIKE. Over six years since the last release of HEC-RAS, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has just made HEC-RAS 5.0 available for free download. This version includes two-dimensional flow, unsteady sediment transport, and a number of improvements to RAS Mapper and other features. The price for the 3-day course is AUD $795 incl. GST or just $300 per day for those attending fewer than 3 days. 

 

Attendees may bring their own laptop computer or hire a computer for the course at a rate of $50 per day. Click here to reserve a computer.
