NEW: New Golf Rules and NAIA Hard Card golf
 
Effective January 1, 2019, the USGA adopted major changes to their playing rules, thus affecting NAIA golf competition and the NAIA Hard Card. The National Administrative Council Executive Committee approved an updated NAIA Golf Hard Card. For more information, visit the Men's or Women's Coaches' Corner webpages.

NEW: Steve Ryan Named to Prestigious National Post steve
 
Steve Ryan, head football coach at Morningside College (Iowa), was elected to the American Football Coaches Association's Board of Trustees.  Ryan, who recently guided the Mustangs to their first NAIA championship as part of an unbeaten season, will handle the role as NAIA representative on the board.

NEW: Deadline for Inter-term Transcripts interterm

Beginning February 1, 2019, inter-term transcripts documenting completed inter-term coursework will be required to receive eligibility decisions. Also, check out role-specific resources for members available online to help navigate the NAIA Eligibility Center processes.

NEW: Reminder that New Baseball Rules are in Effect for 2019 baseball

As previously shared in The Score last August, new baseball rules have been approved and are in effect for the 2019 season. The changes are outlined in a summary document, as well as included in the rules handbook.

NEW: Deadline Extended for Indoor Track & Field Championship Host Bids bid

The bid deadline to host the 2021 and 2022 Indoor Track & Field National Championships has been extended to April 1, 2019. Event dates are March 4-6, 2021 and March 3-5, 2022. To bid, submit the host bid form or contact Hannah Harmon, Championship Event Manager, at 816.595.8156 with any questions.
 
Shot Clock Issues clock 

Due to recent issues regarding synchronization between shot clocks and the red/LED backboard lights, a clarification has been provided. If a school has the issue of the LED lights coming on when a shot clock violation occurs, it has until 2019-20 to fix the problem. There will be no administrative technical charged for the 2018-19 season.

Nominations Being Accepted for NAIA Student-Athlete of Character Award award

Nominations are now being accepted for the NAIA Collegiate Student-Athlete of Character Award. This award honors a student-athlete for a specific act of character exhibited during practice or competition from Jan. 1, 2018 through Dec. 31, 2018 and will be presented at the Champions of Character Foundation Luncheon on May 6, 2019.
