LSO Chamber Music Series
Although the beloved Lakeside Symphony Orchestra (LSO) season has been postponed until 2021, classical music will be heard from the Steele Memorial Bandstand this summer as we welcome several smaller ensembles.
"HIGH FREQUENCY"
7:30 p.m., Wednesday
The “HIGH FREQUENCY” Flute Quartet features Jesse Martin, Tamara Kagy, Jody Chaffee and Elizabeth Studer, Firelands Symphony Orchestra members, who have been performing together in various capacities for many years.
The Braid Quintet
7:30 p.m., Friday
The Braid Quintet features James Braid, Colleen Braid, Lori Bright, Allison Braid Olsen and Karl Olsen, Lakeside Symphony Orchestra members, who will play Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 by Bach, music from “Pirates of the Caribbean” and more.

Lakeside Sailing Regatta
Saturday-Sunday
Registration will take place from 7:30-8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Lakeside Sailing Center, immediately followed by a skipper’s meeting. Find race schedule here.
Ted Yoder Band
7:30 p.m., Saturday
Lakeside welcomes the Ted Yoder Band for their debut at the Steele Memorial Bandstand this week featuring a hammered dulcimer, marimba, shakers and bass.
Jerry Popiel
6 p.m., Sunday
Jerry Popiel returns to Lakeside to perform a tribute to Gordon Lightfoot in his solo acoustic show. He will focus on Lightfoot’s most iconic material from 1966-1976.
LWC Meeting
1:30 p.m., Tuesday
Find Lakeside Chautauqua’s Master Gardener, Loretta Wilken , at the Train Station Patio as she explains the process of choosing plants and planning Lakeside's gardens. This program will be livestreamed to the LWC Facebook .
Religious Seminar
Monday & Wednesday
Join us at 3 p.m. at the Train Station Patio for a time of meditating with scripture and God’s creation using the ancient practice of Lectio Divina . Nancy Flinchbaugh provides the historical and theological background.
Ward Catering Prime Rib Dinner
3-7 p.m., Friday

The Lakeside Women’s Club (LWC) is compiling a Lakeside Cookbook. Submit your favorite family recipes, vintage recipes from years past, kids’ craft ideas or family traditions. Email your name, phone number, recipe/idea/tradition to Sally DePerro at sallydeperro@hotmail.com or Mame Drackett at mame@drackett.cc . The deadline to submit is Monday, Sept. 7.

The bi-weekly Farmers' Market has relocated to the greenspace around the Lakeside Schoolhouse to practice safe social distancing. View hours and safety protocols.
Picnic in Perry Park

For at least 20 years, Wednesday evenings have been an exciting day at Lakeside with a special family picnic . This summer’s event will have a few new twists. RSVP to this week's picnic.

This program will be livestreamed to our website , official Facebook and YouTube pages. There will be no in-person audience this week. The Rev. Dr. Shively T. J. Smith’s theme is “Biblical Images in the Meditative Writings of Howard Thurman.”

Ward Catering  offers a fresh menu of pre-ordered to-go meals every Thursday. Pre-order by 4 p.m. Wednesday. All meals are individually packaged as “heat-and-eat” refrigerated boxes. Limited quantities available.
Centering Prayer
8 a.m., Thursday
Start your day with at the Hotel Lakeside lawn near the Beebe Memorial Telescope. After a brief devotional reading, we will sit in quiet prayer for 20 minutes, and then offer a time for reflection. For questions, contact Tom Frost at (434) 906-5959.
American Red Cross Online Training
Lakeside is partnering with the American Red Cross to offer online training courses . This week we're offering Cat & Dog First Aid; Adult First Aid/CPR/AED; Babysitter Basics; and Bloodborne Pathogens. Register here .

This evening service has relocated to the Steele Memorial Bandstand to practice safe social distancing. Features praise music and traditional hymns with John and Bonnie Wilkie.
Miniature Golf Tournament
2 p.m. Thursday
All ages are welcome to play. Prizes awarded according to age groups. Cost to play miniature golf is $3.50/game. In the case of inclement weather, the event is cancelled.
Fitness Classes
A variety of fitness classes are offered to all ages throughout the week. Week 7 classes include: All Level Yoga, Water Aerobics , Chair Yoga, and so much more. View full class descriptions on our website or the app .

Storybook Walk
Monday & Friday
Families can exercise body and mind as they follow a path through Cherry Park where pages from a hand-picked storybook will be posted at stations along the way. New story every week.
MGM
Monday-Thursday
Participants will discover the relevance of God in their lives, enjoy music, meet new friends and compete for candy in games and activities. Coordinated by John and Bonnie Wilkie.
God Squad
Tuesday-Thursday
This popular children's event features live music with interactive lessons and a fun craft. Coordinated by Chip Richter. Two sessions for different age groups: ages 4-6 and 7-9.
Children's Church Celebration
9:30 a.m., Sunday
The Children's Church Celebration begins with an outdoor processional at the conclusion of the Dockside Worship Service (approximately 9:30 a.m. at the Steele Memorial Bandstand) and proceed down Kenton Row and Cedar Ave. to Bradley Temple. The event will end by 10:15 a.m.
