  • Thursday 9/13 - Conferences - 4:00 to 8:00 pm (Most of the front parking lost will be blocked off due to the bonfire. Please park in the back of the school and enter through the commons or the athletic hallway.)

SENIOR PARENT NIGHT 
Thursday, September 13th at 6:30 pm - CV Auditorium (during conferences)
Counselors will present on post-secondary options, ACT/SAT, resources for seniors and the senior year timeline. Then, Beth Hodge (regional representative for the University of Alabama) will present on the college search and application process, the nuances of financial aid and FAFSA and provide an opportunity to ask questions.
CV GUEST SPEAKER...NOT TO MISS 
Thursday, September 13th from 9:10 to 9:40 am
James Kofi Annan, the founder of Challenging Heights and recipient of the 2013 World's Children's Prize will be visiting Castle View High School to engage students on his amazing story of surviving child slavery and committing his life to preventing this injustice in Ghana.  If you would like to hear his talk, please contact the front office at 303-387-9000. 
Students of Castle View will also be going to Ghana to help support NGOs like Challenging Heights.  We are taking in iPads for the next few days to bring to the students at Challenging Heights.  If you have one to donate, please drop it off at the front office.  Do you want to learn more about this annual trip?  CLICK HERE  or contact head coordinator & CVHS teacher, Ben Wolfe at  [email protected].

CV vs DC FOOTBALL RIVALRY WEEK  
Varsity Football: Friday, 9/14 @ DC Stadium - Kick off is at 7:00 pm (gates open at 6:00 pm)
Freshman Football: Saturday, 9/15 @ CV - 9:00 am
JV Football: Saturday, 9/15 @ CV - 11:00 am 
VARSITY  TICKETS: Sold W, Th and F during both lunches, $4 for students & $6 for adults. We are the AWAY team, so Student Activity Passes are NOT valid for this game. 
BONFIRE: Thursday, 9/13 @ 7:00 pm - open space near the CV tennis courts. 
SABERCAT FOOTBALL TAILGATE: Sabercat Nation will be tailgating on Friday, 9/14 starting at 5:30 pm in the north lot at DCHS.

2nd ANNUAL CV TRUE COLORS COLOR RUN
Saturday, 9/15 from 2:00 to 3:30 pm @ CVHS
Castle View welcomes you to join us as we run, walk and jog while raising funds for our school! This is a fun & social event that is open to EVERYONE in the community and we hope to see you there.
Registration is $25/person. (Walk ups are welcome the day of for $30/person.)

STUDENT FEES - DUE SEPTEMBER 28th 
1st quarter fees have been assessed and are due September 28th. Fees can be paid online at this LINK. 
Remember, if you added a yearbook or activity card to your child's account during Express Check-In, please make sure to pay for them before October 1st for these items will be removed from your child's account and a yearbook will not be ordered for your student. 

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY TUTOR CENTER
This FREE service is offered by our wonderful NHS students Mondays through Thursdays in the library. Tutoring runs from 3:00 to 4:00 pm and is offered on a drop in basis. Please encourage your student/s to utilize this resource for their classes. 

"BEAT THE BUG" - FLU SHOT CLINIC

DCSD PARENT UNIVERSITY 
Research shows that when parents and families are involved in learning, they will have a more active role in the educational process. This heightened engagement in education positively impacts the academic and social success of children. Therefore, we present:

NEW INFINITE CAMPUS MOBILE APPS
IC will be releasing 2 NEW mobile apps on September 17th. These apps provide real-time access to grades, assignments, attendance, schedules, announcements and more.  To help your district prepare for this change, we've put together some communication tools: a press kit that includes a video, posters, flyers, and more. ADULT ATHLETICS PUNCH CARDS
CV Band is selling a limited number of "Adult Varisty Athletics Home Game Punch Passes" for $25/each. (Saves $5 over 5 games.) One card can be used among several people. It is good for the ENTIRE year at ANY HOME varsity athletic event besides district/regional/state events. (FYI, for the upcoming CV vs DC football game on 9/14, DC is the home team so this card cannot be used for this event.)  EMAIL CHERYL ALTMAN if you are interested in purchasing one.
