Dear Saint Rose Families,

Thank you for all of your support at our Open House this past Sunday. It was wonderful to see so many current and prospective families stop by to celebrate our school and Catholic Schools Week.  Thank you to all of our volunteers, teachers and student tour guides.  Our students are the best endorsement for a Saint Rose Catholic School education that we can provide.  Prospective families are always impressed by our students and there are countless times when I have been told that our students are what made the choice to attend Saint Rose an easy one. Thank you!

It has been hard to celebrate Catholic Schools Week with so little school. Here are some updates to the schedule:

Friday, February 1
  • Dress Like a Teacher or Saint Rose Spirit Wear
  • Buddy activity in the gym at noon
    • please bring in your donations and supplies if you have not yet done so
    • students are asked to pack or order a boxed pizza lunch to be eaten with their buddies on beach towels in the gym
  • -Annual 8th grade versus faculty volleyball game ~ 2:20 pm
Tuesday, February 5
  • Middle School Ski Trip (make-up date) -bus loads at 7:45 am
  • Middle school students not attending ski trip ~ off campus activity
  • K-5 students - Pajama and Movie Day (make-up day from CSW)
Stay warm and find some fun ways to explore the cold.  We are making frozen banana hammers, blowing frozen bubbles, using the cold to flash freeze fried eggs and more at our house.

Have a good day.

Sincerely,
Bryon Borgelt

2nd Grade Class Mass - February 10, 2019

Come join other families with students in Grade 2 at 9am Mass on February 10, 2019.  Together with the larger Saint Rose family, you can create bonds of friendship as you worship together.  After the Mass, enjoy a simple reception in the Sacred Heart Center (school cafeteria).  One family is asked to volunteer to bring up the Offertory gifts, and several families are asked to serve as greeters before Mass (arrive at 8:45 am).

Please  CLICK HERE  to RSVP for the Mass and reception.  Seating will be reserved in the front pews on the Saint Joseph side of church.

Attention Girls Grades 3-8!

Empowered...strong...inspiring...healthy...FUN!
These are just a few of the words that have been used to describe the Girls on the Run program from past participants. We are excited to announce that the Girls on the Run program is returning for another season!   We had so much fun and learned so much last season we are gearing up for the spring! We will offer a different curriculum with new games and activities, but cover the same core values and tackle important life lessons.  New participants are encouraged to sign up and girls who have already completed the program are invited back!
If we have enough girls sign up and find volunteer coaches ... we will be off and running in March!    Practices will be on Mondays and Fridays after school. Online registration opens Monday, February 4th.

Saint Rose School theme for the year:

Love Life!

January Theme:  Abortion

During January every year pro-life citizens mourn the verdict of Roe vs Wade which resulted in the legalization of abortion in the United States.  Many pro-life people flood Washington for the March for Life to protest that ruling, to show support in solidarity, and to ask Congress to enact laws that protect innocent life.

Abortion is a difficult topic to explain to young children.  Please click  here  to read an article that may help parents relay this horror to children when the parents feel it is time.

All collections for Mass and alternate dress this month will be given to Heartbeat of Toledo, an agency that helps women to continue their pregnancies.  Thank you for your generosity.
