With the Petroleum engineering background, Mr. Marsili worked in Eni and Enterprise Oil before joining Shell 16 years ago as Area Development Lead for Gannet cluster in UK North Sea. Mr. Marsili covered a number of Asset Commercial roles in UK and Italy. Mr. Marsili worked in NBD as Head of M&A in Shell Energy Europe and as Senior Business Development Manager responsible for the Iraq South Gas project.

More recently Mr. Marsili worked as the Venture Implementation Manager and Commercial Director for Basra Gas Company Joint Venture in Iraq.

Shell's plans to build cracker plant gets boost from FERC rate approval

Spglobal.com, September 10, 2018: Shell's plans to build a world-class ethane cracker in western Pennsylvania took a step forward Friday with the approval by the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission of rate structures for the company's proposed Falcon Ethane Pipeline system.The approval allows Shell to move forward in its plans to build the 97-mile pipeline designed to carry ethane extracted from Marcellus and Utica gas produced in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio.
Lukoil To Spend Over $1B On Share Buybacks By End-2019

Oilprice.com, September 7, 2018: Russia's second-largest oil producer Lukoil will spend more than US$1 billion on share buybacks by the end of 2019, as part of its recently announced US$3-billion buyback program, the company's first vice president for finance Alexander Matytsyn said on Friday.
The buybacks as part of the program, which Lukoil announced last week, will begin as early as this month, Russian media quoted Matytsyn as saying today. Lukoil has picked Citi to handle the buybacks, the manager added.  Read more...
Russia's Gazprom Neft says it raises reserves of offshore Neptun oilfield

Reuters.com, Spetember, 10, 2018: Gazprom Neft , the oil arm of Russian gas giant Gazprom said on Tuesday that a state subsoil commission has increased the oil reserves valuation of eastern offshore oilfield Neptun to almost 416 million tonnes from the initial estimates.
Neptun, located near the Sakhalin island in the Pacific Ocean, was Gazprom Neft's largest
oil discovery last year. The company said reserves had been raised by 1.6 times the previous estimate. Read more...

Alibaba goes big on Russia with joint venture focused on gaming, shopping and more

Techcrunch.com, September 11, 2018: Alibaba is doubling down on Russia after the Chinese e-commerce giant launched a joint venture valued at around $2 billion with one of the country's leading internet companies.  Russia is said to have over 70 million internet users, around half of its population, with countless more attracted from Russian-speaking neighboring countries. The numbers are projected to rise as, like in many parts of the world, the growth of smartphones brings more people online. France Wants to Further Develop Economic Cooperation With Russia - Ambassador

Sputniknews.com, September 13, 2018: France wants to further develop economic cooperation with Russia, French Ambassador to Russia Sylvie Bermann told reporters adding that French President aimed to intensify Russia-EU ties. "We have made the second biggest investments [among EU countries] in the Russian economy in 2017. France is also one of the biggest employers in Russia. The trade between Russia and France is highly dynamic, it increased by 26 percent ... Russia and China are looking at launching joint projects worth more than $100 billion

Cnbc.com, September 10, 2018: A group composed of Russian and Chinese businesses is considering 73 joint investment projects cumulatively worth more than $100 billion, according to a Tuesday statement. The announcement said seven projects worth a total of $4.6 billion had already been implemented as a result of work by the China-Russia group.  Read more...
Expanding the Range of Possibilities: Eastern Economic Forum kicks off in Vladivostok

Tass.com, September 11, 2018: The 4th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), which kicks off in Vladivostok on Tuesday, promises to become the most representative one in comparison with the previous events in terms of the line ups and level of delegations. The forum will be held on September 11-13.
The forum's key event, a plenary session "The Far East: Expanding the Range of Possibilities," will be attended by the heads of five states and governments: Russia's President Vladimir Putin, China's President Xi Jinping, President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga, Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe and Prime Minister of South Korea Lee Nak-yeon.  Read more...
Russia's Aeroflot orders further 100 Russia-made planes

Businesstimes.com, September 11, 2018: Russia's Aeroflot has agreed to order a further 100 Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ 100) planes, representing the biggest deal in the company's contemporary history, it said on Monday.  The deal could be worth more than US$3 billion and falls under the Russian flagship carrier's new strategy to focus on regional routes, the Vedomosti business daily reported on Monday.  Aeroflot, which is controlled by the state, said last month it would focus its 2023 strategy on launching new regional bases and hubs, as well as on increasing the proportion of Russian aircraft in its fleet.  Read more...
India, Russia discuss ways to deepen cooperation in mining, agriculture

Business-standard.com, September 11, 2018: India and Russia discussed ways to increase economic cooperation in areas such as mining and geological exploration in gold and diamond, and agriculture, the commerce ministry said Tuesday.  The issues were discussed during the meeting between Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev and Commerce Minister Suresh Prabhu.  Read more...
Tokyo supports participation of Japan's companies in LNG projects with Russia - minister

Tass.com, September 9, 2018: Companies from Japan are proactively discussing participation in liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects with the Russian side, including in the Arctic Region and Kamchatka, and the government of Japan is ready to support participation in them, Japanese Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Hiroshige Seko said in an interview with TASS in the run-up to the 4th Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.  Read more...
Russia's largest petrochemicals firm says its IPO plans could go ahead next year

Cncb.com , September 11, 2018: The CEO of Sibur, the largest petrochemicals company in  Russia and  Eastern Europe, on Tuesday said the second quarter of 2019 may be "a good moment" to go ahead with an initial public offering. The company is in the midst of building its largest-ever expansion project, western Siberia petrochemical complex ZapSibNefteKhim, said Sibur Chief Executive Officer Dmitry Konov. The facility is expected to be completed in the second quarter of next year, which then opens the door for further discussions on listing the company's shares, he noted.  Read more...
Russia plans to launch four industrial zones abroad in 6 years

Tass.com, September 12, 2018 : Russia's Export Development Plan envisages the launch of four industrial zones abroad in six years, Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov told reporters on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum.  This is in addition to the industrial zone in Egypt, he noted.  "We are developing a program for the creation of industrial zones abroad. We should establish at least four zones in six years. We have one in Egypt, and we must form them in Latin America too - it could be Mexico, Uruguay or Paraguay, in Southeast Asia - Vietnam, Malaysia or Indonesia - and in eastern or western Africa. Siberia to get unique scientific and research center

Tass.com, September 7, 2018: The council of heads of the Tyumen region's universities and institutes has proposed creating a unique inter-regional scientific and research center in western Siberia as part of the national project "Science", the department of strategic communications of the University of Tyumen said on Friday.
"Everyone understands that no matter how strong a university is, it cannot get the status of a scientific and research center outlined in the presidential decree," said Valery Falkov, the head of the University of Tyumen and the council's chairman.  Read more...

Russia and Kazakhstan plan to create SEZ within Baikonur

CIS Economic Council to consider draft agreement on space cooperation

Uzbekistan, Russia discuss co-op in production of medicine

Trend.az, September 10, 2018: The head of the Agency for Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdullayev held a meeting with Russian pharmaceutical manufacturers in Moscow, UzDaily reported. Representatives of Sotex, Nanolek, Valenta Farm, Dalhimfarm and others took part in this meeting. During the meeting, Russian companies received information about the pharmaceutical industry in Uzbekistan and preferences that are provided to local producers.  Read more...

Экспорт сельхозпродукции с Дальнего Востока в 2018 году может составить $3,3 млрд

Tass.ru, 11 сентября, 2018: Регионы Дальнего Востока по итогам 2018 года могут экспортировать продукции сельского хозяйства на $3,3 млрд. Об этом сообщил журналистам в кулуарах Восточного экономического форума министр сельского хозяйства РФ Дмитрий Патрушев. "В I полугодии 2018 года поставки из Дальневосточного федерального округа увеличились в стоимостном выражении почти на 30% или на $350 млн по сравнению с аналогичным периодом прошлого года.
