Co-hosted Webinar: The Role of Title V Programs and Value-Based Purchasing for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN)

In early December, the Catalyst Center and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) co-hosted a webinar on innovations that support value based purchasing (VBP) for CYSHCN.

Presentations from the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs (AMCHP), and the state Title V programs in Oregon and Colorado helped to define the role of Title V programs in relation to value-based purchasing arrangements, discussed specific program examples and shared lessons learned. NASHP's Webinar and Issue Brief: Medicaid Quality Measurement for Children and Youth With Special Health Care Needs

The National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHP) hosted a webinar, supported by the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health, which delved into the opportunities and challenges for conducting quality measurement for Children and Youth With Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN).

NASHP released a companion issue brief addressing this topic, as well. The brief's appendix contains additional helpful information such as case studies from three states which implemented quality measurement and improvement programs, and selected quality measure sets, surveys, and

measure concepts for CYSHCN.

NCSL'S Report: Improving Systems of Care for Children with Special Health Needs-Resources and Policy Options

The National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) recently released a brief about improving systems of care for children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN). This brief provides an overview of programs, funding options,national standards, data, state approaches, and policy options that states may consider to improve systems of care for CYSHCN and their families.
