90-Acre Industrial Park Planned near 104th and I-76

Commerce City's tight industrial real estate market is about to get a boost. Developers are planning to add nearly 700,000 square feet of new office flex and light industrial buildings on a 90-acre property near E. 104th Avenue and Interstate 76. The concept plan includes six 20,000-square-foot office flex buildings, six 50,000-square-foot buildings for small manufacturing operations, and two 135,000-square-foot buildings for larger manufacturing or warehouse and distribution. Vacancy rates for industrial buildings in Commerce City have been less than 5 percent for several years. The new buildings will help attract new businesses and allow existing businesses to expand within the city.
Local Program Supports Food Truck Businesses

The Sal y Pimienta Food Truck Academy held its inaugural class at the Commerce City Small Business Resource Center last weekend. Taught entirely in Spanish, the curriculum was developed by Adelante Community Development to teach management and operation of food trucks. Sessions included understanding government rules and regulations, business development, managing and promotion, and access to capital.

Adelante designed the program "to make an impact and help those businesses," said Maria Gonzalez, President and Founder of Adelante Community Development. "That is why Adelante made an investment to have this curriculum written specifically targeting this niche and give them the support they need."

Adelante also partnered with the City of Commerce City, the Colorado Office of Minority Business and Mile High United Way to provide scholarships for attendees in need. The program will be offered again in early December. Learn more at AdelanteCD.org .
