Tiger News
Happy Friday!

It was another great week at Christ the King Catholic School!

It was great to see our student council members share suggestions for how students can make good choices and avoid drugs at Morning Assembly. It was also great to see the enthusiasm the entire student body displayed all week during our various themed out of uniform days and our staff vs. student basketball game today!

Today marks the end of our Kindness Challenge. The students and I determined that they have accomplished over 4,600 acts of kindness over the past 3 weeks. I encouraged them to pick at least one new act of kindness and incorporate it into their daily routine.

We reached out 500th consecutive blog post this week! Since January of 2016, the 90 Days of Learning and 180 Days of Learning blogs have over 77,000 page views and have been read by people in 12 different countries. I have enjoyed documenting all of the innovative and faith-filled lessons, trips, celebrations, and events that have taken place over the past 3 years and counting, and I look forward to sharing the next 500 posts and beyond with you. Guest bloggers are welcome. If you would like to share your thoughts or experiences about a specific lesson, activity, group, or event, please send them my way with a picture, and I will get it posted.

I am looking forward to a short but busy week next week. I hope to see you on Tuesday during Parent-Teacher Conferences and Wednesday for the 4th Annual Read Across Christ the King Day.

Have a great weekend!

Peace,

Ed Seib

Student Protectors! NEW
Everyday I see examples of our students being protectors. In the past week, I have had a couple students contact me with suggestions about how the entire student body can be protectors. While I may not always be able to say yes to every idea, I am inspired by our students desire to help others! Here are the two suggestions that we are going to implement next week.

8th graders Grace Felts and Erin Emmick suggested that next Tuesday should be a dress down day with a voluntary donation to support breast cancer research.

6th grader Sam Bastin asked if I could promote a collection he has started for an animal shelter. He is collecting old bath towels and paper towels. He will take them to the shelter over Fall Break. Donations can be brought to the office. For more information click here.

Books, Books, and More Books! NEW
Nothing is better than reading a good book, being read a good book, or owning a book! Over the next few weeks all of these opportunities will be at your fingertips!

The highly publicized Read Across Christ the King Day on Oct. 24th, where books are read to students all day long, will be preceded by a library sponsored Used Book Sale! This sale will include tired, well-loved library books, extra copies of books, some previously popular books that have not been checked out in this decade, or just books that are no longer relevant in this day and age. That does not mean they may not hold a special place in your heart or home! Books will be available beginning at noon on Oct. 23rd during Parent/Teacher Conferences and throughout the day on the Oct. 24rd. There is a recommended donation of $.25 per book, and an on-your-honor can will be available for your donations. Remaining books will be donated.

Finally, the ultimate book sale will be upon us... The Annual Scholastic Book Fair!! The book fair will be opening on Oct. 31st! More details to come! Get ready to curl up and read a good book! Questions about the used book sale or book fair?  amymac1@sbcglobal.com

Sensory Advantage is excited to partner with Christ the King to offer our innovative Therapeutic Enrichment groups as part of their before and after school programming. These groups promote targeted skill development and improved attention to support optimal classroom performance.

Meetings are on Thursdays from 3:15 -4:15 starting November 1st and ending December 13th. The cost ins $100 dollars. Check out this link for more information and to register.
