Frenkel Elected Third VP 
 
Councillor Brian Frenkel of the District of Vanderhoof was elected UBCM Executive Third Vice President in the candidate election Thursday.
Professional Reliance Review  
 
Thursday morning, UBCM delegates were given an update on a recent independent assessment of public confidence in qualified professionals (QP's) working in the natural resource sector. The Professional Reliance Review resulted in 121 recommendations to improve the professional, technical and ethical standards that are applied to private sector QP's and their self-governing professional organizations. Community Energy Association Award Winners
 
The Honourable George Heyman, Minister of Environment and Climate Change Strategy, presented awards recognizing the leadership of BC local governments and public sector organizations at the UBCM Convention. The City of Victoria, District of Hudson's Hope and the Capital Regional District received Climate & Energy Action Awards. The City of Nelson and City of Surrey received Honourable Mentions.
