Natick High School is extremely proud to announce that
three
students have been named as
Semifinalists
in the annual
National Merit Scholarship Program
- seniors Eloise Baker, Sammy Siegel and Olivia Sorensen.
Students who qualify as Semifinalists, based on their outstanding performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/ NMSQT®) in October, junior year are the
only
program participants who have an opportunity to advance to the Finalist level and compete for National Merit Scholarships.
Initiated in 1955, the National Merit Program is conducted by National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), a not-for-profit organization that operates without government assistance. A number of National Merit Scholarships to be offered in 2019 will be underwritten by NMSC, yet most will be supported by some 410 independent corporate organizations and higher education institutions.
We wish Eloise, Sammy, and Olivia luck as they complete their applications in this exciting process.

We are excited to host the first home varsity football game this evening v. Brockton.
Kick off is at
6pm
and general admission will be $5.
As always, we hope that today's game is an exciting time to represent Natick Redhawks Athletics and the Natick Community with class and poise.
The student section "The Hawks' Nest" will be temporarily moved
as a precaution for some repairs that need to happen in that section of stands over the next few weeks. A small section of the stands will be shut down, roped off and unavailable for seating this evening. This area will be staffed and marked with cones.
Please comply with our staff's directions and with the signs in the stands.
Thanks for your cooperation. And best of luck to the Football Team, Cheer Team, Band and all of our Fall Athletic Teams!

College Visits At NHS
College representatives will be visiting the high school throughout the fall. Students can view a list of all scheduled conferences, and register through their
Naviance/Family Connection
account. Conferences are scheduled for either 7:30 a.m. or 2:00 p.m. We encourage students to attend conferences for those schools they are interested in or intend to apply to. This provides a great opportunity to share and receive information, as well as network with college representatives. Frequently, the Natick representative will be one of the application readers for Natick applicants, providing an invaluable opportunity for students to connect with the college admissions office.

|
Senior Photo Requirements
Note: It is EXTREMELY important that these guidelines be
followed to ensure your photo is in the yearbook.
The senior section is a semiformal section of the yearbook and has restrictions so that it is consistent. When you find yourself asking "Is this picture OK for the yearbook?" ask if it is something you would include with a college or job resume.
Poses must be a traditional head & shoulder, moderate close-up with or without hands or arms. No outdoor or full length shots. All students should dress business casual or semiformal. Examples of this include:
Suit coat/jacket and tie
Collared shirts, blouse, sweater
The following do not meet the business casual guidelines and are not allowed:
No bare shoulders
No props or other enhancements in your portrait
No sunglasses, hats, t-shirts, tank tops, dew rags, or bandanas
If you choose to go with a photographer other than Paradise Photo and Video make sure you follow the following formatting guidelines for your senior portrait: print these requirements out and bring them to the photographer. Please ensure that your photographer has submitted your photo to Mr. Fleming at
jfleming@natickps.org
. The yearbook office is not responsible for editing your photographs or communicating with your photographer.
Color pictures only
Traditional solid background – no outside shots
Pictures should be 2x3 inches, 400 dpi or better.

WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN:
Being a member of the PTSO allows you to support your high school and the future of all our children

HOW YOU CAN JOIN:
Every parent is a member of PTSO. Become an
active
member by completing the form and sending it with a payment of $25.00 to Lenore Freitas, PTSO Treasurer, 170 Woodland St, Natick, MA 01760. All donations are tax deductible!
