PRESIDENT'S BREAKFAST AND SCCS ANNUAL REPORT ONLINE

EDUCATION FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE SOON
The deadline to submit SCCS Education Foundation Scholarship applications is Monday, February 11. Applications must be turned in to the SCCS Education Foundation mailbox by 3:00pm. Scholarships are available to students in 8th grade entering high school, current high school students, and graduating seniors who will be attending a college or university next year.
All recipients will be announced at the end of the school year during their respective award ceremonies. If you have any questions regarding this process, please contact Mrs. Jeanette Hrovatich at 419-626-1892, ext. 246.


PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES
Middle and high school teachers will be available to meet with parents for conferences on Thursday, February 14, from 1:30pm-6:00pm in teacher classrooms.
Grades K-5 Parent/Teacher Conferences are held by appointment in classrooms. Please enter at the Main Entrance, under the blue awning, in the Decatur Street parking lot

AMERICAN HEART CHALLENGE
February is National American Heart Awareness month. SCCS students in preschool through grade 7 will be participating in the American Heart Challenge from February 5 through March 1. During Physical Education class, students will be focusing on games and exercises to promote heart health. This project is to raise money for the American Heart Association, but students are not required to participate. More information on the challenge will be sent home with students this week.

ABIGAIL M. BASTIEN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Last year, the Abigail M. Bastien Memorial Scholarship was established. Abby exemplified the characteristics SMCC strives for in educating students: Strengthening the Body, Challenging the Mind, and Enriching the Spirit. Abby was a 2016 graduate of Sandusky St. Mary Central Catholic High School and was entering her sophomore year at Johns Hopkins University when she unexpectedly passed away on July 13, 2017. There is a $1000 scholarship available to an SMCC graduating senior who will be attending college next year. The deadline to apply is Friday, February 22. Please click here for an application. MIDDLE SCHOOL DANCE
The Class of 2020 is hosting a Middle School Dance for students in grades 6-8 on Friday, February 1 from 7:00pm-9:00pm in the Multi-Purpose Room. Tickets are $5 and the theme is "Glow Dance" so wear neon and be sure to bring glow sticks!

SUMMER OF 2020 GERMANY TRIP   An "Experience Germany" trip is being planned for the summer of 2020 for students who will be in grades 9-12. The tour will be visiting Berlin and Munich, and you can preview the trip at www.eftours.com/exg .  The deadline to sign up is January 31, 2019.  There is an "early sign up" discount of $200 if you sign up by January 15, 2019.  Please feel free to email Mrs. Fresch with any questions at [email protected] .
