Greetings from the Richmond Highway Corridor Improvements team at VDOT! As we continue to finalize major project design features for improvements coming to Richmond Highway, you're invited to join us for a fourth public information meeting on

Monday, Oct. 29 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (a brief p resentation will begin at 7 p.m.) at

Mount Vernon High School, 8515 Old Mount Vernon Road, Alexandria, VA 22309.

This meeting is an opportunity for residents and stakeholders to:

Learn about updates to the proposed project design
Review the Environmental Assessment document as required by the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
Discuss your questions with project staff and submit comments

ABOUT THE PROJECT

This project will improve almost three miles of Richmond Highway from Jeff Todd Way to Napper Road in Fairfax County. The proposed plans will widen the road from four to six lanes, provide separate bicycle and pedestrian accommodations on both sides of the road, and preserve the median width necessary to accommodate Fairfax County's future Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) plans for dedicated bus-only lanes.
