NEW Yoga & Pilates Instructors! Classes have begun!

A moving flow with some vigor, this class begins with a centering and is a continual movement and a linking together of poses and breath, building heat in the body.  This class consists of more standing poses than seated.

Gentle classes are ideal for the beginner student or for those looking  to slow down their yoga practice.  Classes are breath centered and alignment based.  This class begins with a centering, stretching poses followed by relaxation.

*Please bring your own mat to class.

Pilates Mat class  works to balance all muscle groups strength and flexibility with an emphasis with an emphasis on challenging the core with each movement. This class is designed to sculpt your body and to help feel increased agility in your everyday movements.

Grown Up Art

Come paint, shimmy, paste and squish your way through a variety of creative projects with The Clever Crayon! Moms, Dads, grandparents and caregivers will meet new friends and create lasting memories! Watch your child build fine motor and social skills in a safe, imaginative and fun filled environment!

2 years and up with a Grown Up

Grown Up Cooking

Grown ups and their little chefs will practice basic cooking skills such as measuring, scooping, spreading and cutting while following simple recipes and exploring new tastes and textures. Recipes include: muffins, mini pizzas, egg cups and more!
PLEASE make any allergies know ahead of time so we can  accommodate.

Dance Programs for Young Dancers
Ages 3 - 8
Main Street Ballet, 124 South Pomperaug Ave, Woodbury

Choose your age group, choose your time and come join in the fun! The younger dancers will enjoy an innovative and wondrous dance adventure using story, music, dance adn props to stimulate their imaginations, build coordination, and learn the fundamentals of ballet technique. Exercises work toward increasing attention span and developing the dancer's imaginative talents.

Yoga After School  NEW!
Mondays 3:30 - 5:00 PM
Grades K - 5
Mitchell Elementary School

Yogis in grades K - 5 will build flexibility, strength, and concentration while exploring different yoga poses and breathing techniques. Classes will be filled with lots of fun, games, teamwork and creativity! Please bring a water bottle and snack! Yoga mats are provided.

Science Art
This class will combine the wonderful world of science with the creative world of art! We will do a variety of experiments and turn them into works of art! Children will enjoy exploring various reactions, textures and color mixing while socializing and learning with friends old and new!

Our program is designed to teach the core values of Jiu Jitsu as a lifestyle - striving to create a fun and practical approach to not only prepare children to defend themselves so they don't have to; but as a way to teach respect, self-confidence, teamwork and valuable listening skills they can carry into the classroom and beyond.

Join Mitchell Elementary School's physical education teacher, Mr, K, for fun after school programs! Keep busy and run off some steam while learning new skills through fun games with a different emphasis each session. Favorite games include class gym favorites like Capture the Flag, Red Rover, Sharks and Minnows, Battleship, Invasion and more!

Teen and Tween Programs 

High School Volleyball Clinic  
Thursdays 6:00 - 7:30PM
Ages 16 and older
Woodbury Middle School Gym
Older tens and adults, this is program to take your skills and knowledge of the sport to the next level with a 6 session co-ed clinic. Minimum 2 years experience in an organized league setting is required. All aspects of the game from serving, hitting, blocking, passing as well as defensive and offensive tactics will be covered.

HIP HOP Yoga for Teens      NEW!

Hip Hop Yoga
Hip Hop Yoga is a great experience for any yoganini at any level. Combining mindfulness and hip hop to your Yoga practice. Our class is specifically designed for teens, using music they love by Drake, Post Malone, Rihanna and students are encouraged to bring their own music.

Violin and Viola lessons are available for children and adults! Students will learn classical technique on their own or rented instrument. 30 minute sessions on Mondays or Tuesdays, for 6 weeks!

Cardio Kick Boxing    NEW!
Ages 14 years to adult
Thursdays, 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

This high-energy interval workout challenges the beginner and elite athlete alike. Build stamina, improve coordination and flexibility, and burn calories as you build lean muscle with this fun and challenging workout in a no judgement zone. The last 20 minutes of class will focus on full body conditioning and core work. Beginners to Advanced levels are welcome as the instructor will offer modifications to ALL participants. Please bring a mat and water bottle.

Badminton For Adults
Age 16 - older
Wednesdays, 7:00 - 9:00 pm
Woodbury Middle School  Gym
Badminton for intermediate players. Players should have knowledge of the competitive game for both doubles and singles including the rules to each. No instructor, just an evening (every other week) to come and enjoy playing the game. Please bring your own racquet and shuttlecock.

Party yourself into shape! We take the "work" out of workout by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval style, calorie burning dance fitness party! Burn up to 1,000 calories in ONE HOUR!

Haven't played volleyball for a while but would like to get back into it? Maybe you have never played, but would like to give it a try? This program is for everyone who would like to get some exercise while having fun playing volleyball.

Horse Back Riding at Daffodil Farm
Saturdays, 10:30 - 11:30 am
Ages 5 - 15 years old
Daffodil Hill Fram, 138 Minortown Rd, Woodbury

A safe place to learn horsemanship and riding at all levels, or to improve your current riding skills. The classes are rain or shine, there is an indoor riding area. Please wear long pants and shoes or boots with a heel. If you have questions please call Jessica Thomas at (203) 217-2302.

One Day Courses for Teens and Adults

1 Day Combination: Safe Boating & Personal Watercraft Safety Certification Course
12 and older 
Saturday, February 16th OR March 30th (choose one)
8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Rec House, 7 Mountain Rd, Woodbury
Boat Safety
A complete, updated, safe boating certification course taught in one 8 hour day. This class includes the newest requirement for towing skiers and tubes. An easy to understand classroom format is designed for students age 12 and over. 

PRIOR to taking the class, you must create an account online at https://www.ct.wildlifelicense.com/internetsales  and click the START button to create an account. Print the page, and bring it to the first class. Students should also bring a pen or pencil to class.

Bee Keeping 101
Teens and Adults

Have you always wanted to keep honeybees, but do not know how to get started? The WPR department will be hosting a honeybee keeping class. Mike Rice of Mike's Beehives LLC will instruct participants on parts of a hive, installing bees into a hive, bee life cycles and how to register your bees with the State of CT and more! Mike will bring all the equipment needed to cover all aspects of bee keeping!
