Integrated Major in Math and English (IMME)
The Integrated Major in Math and English (IMME) is an innovative program designed to prepare students with high-level skills in both mathematics and English stressing an integrated, complementary mastery of these disciplines. Four mathematics
concentration areas are available: Financial/Actuarial, Applied, Pre-Education Math, and Theoretical. These are combined with a strong foundation in English, including critical and analytical writing, and an opportunity to choose electives. The English Department fosters empathy, textual analysis and communication. Mathematics teaches precision in modeling and in analyzing real-world problems, and involves skills in calculation and numerical analysis. Students will be well prepared for positions in banking, insurance, marketing, consulting, non-profit organizations, and other fields that require both some mathematical awareness and strong communication skills, as well as for application to graduate and professional schools.

"Meet the Prof"
Dr. Karl Whittington, Department of History of Art
Join other arts and sciences students for free pizza and informal conversation with Dr. Karl Whittington, Associate Professor and Chair of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of History of Art. Dr. Whittington teaches a large GE survey of Ancient and Medieval Western Art, upper level courses on Medieval Art and Architecture, and study abroad courses in France and Italy. He is a specialist in European medieval art, particularly issues relating to the history of science, gender and sexuality, and image theory. Presented by the Arts and Sciences Student Council. Dean's Student Advisory Board - Apply for a Position
The College of Arts and Sciences Dean's Student Advisory Board is seeking three undergraduate students to serve a two-year term. One representative will be selected from each of the three college divisions: Arts and Humanities, Natural and Mathematical Sciences and Social and Behavioral Sciences. To be eligible students must be pursuing a degree in the arts and sciences on the Columbus campus and not graduate until after Spring 2021. Taste of OSU 2019
Taste of OSU provides an exciting evening of international cuisine, cultural exhibits and vibrant performances presented by 44 student organizations to a crowd of 4,000 attendees. The event is free and open to the public. To sample the array of international dishes prepared by the student organizations, attendees must purchase $1 tickets. Food tickets will be available for purchase with BuckIDs February 4-14 at the Office of International Affairs in Enarson Classroom Building and February 11-14 at the Ohio Union. Arts Undergraduate Research Scholarships
This competition is for students who are pursuing a degree in the Arts, willing to pursue Arts honors and an Honors Distinction Project in the arts, and will be working on a creative or research project by autumn semester of the last year of their major program. The amount of an award varies from $500 to $7,000. More info

A Dinosaur for Orton Hall
Meet our new 24-foot dinosaur friend, Cryolophosaurus ellioti, "living" in Orton Hall. The skeleton was discovered and named in honor of one of Ohio State's own geology professors, David Elliot. Found in Antarctica, it's the most complete dinosaur found from that continent and highlights the university's long history of research in the polar regions. Try the augmented reality that has been added to the exhibit bu downloading the "orton hall ar dinosaur exhibit" app onto your iPhone or iPad. Then, either visit Orton Hall or click on the link to Cryolophosaurus on the Orton Geological Museum webpage. In the museum, you can interact with a 3D Cryolophosaurus, see plate tectonic movements from the Jurassic to the present and back, and listen to David Elliot discuss finding the dinosaur. Read more.

Yoga for Mental Health Drop In Workshop
This weekly drop-in workshop is designed specifically to enhance the mind-body connection so that students can learn skills to mitigate stress, increase concentration, and improve mental and emotional well-being. Each week will have a different theme and will benefit anyone who is interested in connecting their body and mind regardless of experience with yoga or mental health concerns. Please clear participation with your doctor if you have any physical health concerns. People with disabilities will be accommodated. Yoga mats and props provided.

Dance-film is the marriage of dance and film language - not just a recording of a dance, but a cinematic reimagining of dance's possibilities. Work that can only exist on the screen. DANCE@30FPS (frames per second) is an international festival of dance-film presented by the Department of Dance and screened at the Wexner Center for the Arts for free. Read more.

Why Sustainable Transportation is Essential for Our Future
Modern humans enjoy mobility levels that are unprecedented in history. While this has benefits, it also has enormous social, health and environmental costs.
Dr. Harvey J. Miller discusses how resolving these costs is crucial if civilization is to survive the 21st century - a world that will see 10 billion people, most of whom will crowd into cities. Dr. Miller is the Reusche Chair in Geographic Information Science, Director of the Center for Urban and Regional Analysis, and Professor of Geography at Ohio State.
