MAA Promotes Chris Curry to President

The Mobile Airport Authority (MAA) announced the promotion of Executive Director Thomas "Chris" Curry to President. In this role, Curry oversees all aspects of the Mobile Downtown Airport, Mobile Regional, and the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley under the direction of the Airport Authority Board.

Commonwealth STEM Industry Internship Program (CSIIP)

The Virginia Space Grant Consortium (VSGC) has created the Commonwealth STEM Industry Internship Program (CSIIP), a year-round program funded by the Commonwealth of Virginia and supported by the Governor's Office. CSIIP links companies and students in STEM.

JFK To Get Two New Terminals In $13 Billion Project

Two new international terminals will be built at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in a mostly privately financed project that will modernize and expand the aging facility. This announcement adds details to the project that was originally announced in the governor's 2017 JFK Vision Plan.

New Study Predicts Biometric Identification Is the Future of Airport Security

Research released by global IT provider SITA says that airlines and airports alike are making biometric technology a priority investment. The SITA 2018 Air Transport IT Insights discovered that over the next three years, 77% of airports and 71% of airlines are looking into the possibility of biometric ID.

Trump Signs SUU Aviation Bill Into Law

For years, Southern Utah University's Aviation program has worked toward changing an outdated Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulation for aircraft maintenance training curriculum. President Donald Trump signed SUU's proposed bill into law last week.
