A Message from Brother Thomas

SCHOOL UPDATE:

We are still waiting for the Claims Adjustor for the Archdiocese to review bids for the required restoration work at the school.  We are hopeful that a contractor will proceed with repairs shortly.  Another series of air quality tests were conducted prior to classes resuming.  The results once again were favorable.  To help prevent the spread of a stomach bug that seems prevalent, the cleaning staff has been applying additional disinfectant to hand railings, door handles, cafeteria tables, and throughout bathrooms and locker rooms.

Mid-term Exam Prep

The Learning Center will be offering mid-term exam prep starting Monday, January 7th until exam week, everyday at 2:30. Come get organized and get helpful study tips. Everyone Is welcome.

Literary Trip

Over the Christmas break, students in Mr. Canniff's English II Honors class had an opportunity to earn extra credit by traveling to Concord to take pictures at sites associated with authors such as Thoreau, Emerson, Hawthorne, and others. A number of the sophomores later reflected on their awe at witnessing the unique custom of pens and pencils being left as memorials at the graves of these authors in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. Of this, one student wrote: "I couldn't imagine creating literary work that evoked such reverence from people living so far in the future."

Making a Difference
...one penny at a time

The Fenwick Community received a letter from the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless thanking us for contributing $1,160 for "The 250 beds for 250 Children Initiative". Lily, an eleven year old, is one of the beneficiaries of our generosity. Lily has slept on an old uncomfortable mattress for as long as she can remember. There are many children like Lily.  Thank you to everyone who participated in the Penny Wars. Every contribution helped. Click  here  to read the letter in its entirety
