Run for The Summit: T-Shirt Registration Due Monday

The Summit Parent Organization (SPO) will be hosting our 12th annual Run for The Summit on  Saturday, September 22, 2018. This year we are hosting a Far Out 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run at the Missouri Institute of Natural Science. Participants are encouraged to dress in their grooviest running gear for our 1960s inspired event!

You need to register by Monday, September 17th to receive a run shirt! Summit Run shirts are considered spirit wear and may be worn on Fridays!

The one mile fun run is stroller and kid friendly! All are welcome to participate.

Complete Spanish Trip Survey

The Spanish department sent out a survey last week to gauge interest from The Summit community on travel abroad opportunities. Feedback will be considered when determining a target region and age group for the first trip.

Things to Know
Middle School Boys Basketball Team: Champions!
The Summit/NCA boys middle school basketball team finished in first place this weekend at the Mark Twain Conference. The team won their game Thursday night with the score of 53-8 and went on to win both games Friday and Saturday. Reid Breckner, #23 and Summit 7th grader, was a major contributor during the games.
Happy Thank-Scrip-ing Day: Monday, Sept. 17th
Due to "Thank-Scrip-ing Day" on  Monday, September 17th, the Scrip order will be placed on next week on  Tuesday, September 18th.

Plan to Cheer on the Cross Country Team: Sept. 25th
We've got spirit, yes we do! We've got spirit, how about you? Join us as we cheer on the Summit/NCA Cross Country team at the Republic Meet on Tuesday, September 25th. This is a great chance to support our team at a local event.

 - Girls Varsity at 3:30 p.m. featuring Summit sophomore Alexis

Upper School Spanish Competitions 2018-2019
Summit Upper School students will once again participate in the Ozark Hispanic League Studies this year. These competitions are held three times a year at various area schools and allow students to showcase Spanish skills in vocabulary, poetry, dancing, singing, and culture bowl. The first competition is in Bolivar on Saturday, November 3rd.

Save the Date for The Summit Gala: Friday, October 26th
The Summit's 14th Annual Gala will be held at the Darr Agricultural Center (same great location as last year). 

This year's Annual Auction & Gala is a 1990s style party complete with games, music, appetizers, raffles, and silent and live auctions. Guests can show off their fly moves while gettin' jiggy with it, enjoy free wine and beer, or try their luck at the gaming tables. This party is going be all that and a bag of chips!

Tickets for this great event are only $100/person (just like last year).  Mr. Vince Currao, Summit's Development Officer, will be in contact regarding event sponsorship opportunities.
