We Packed the Pantry!
|
THANK YOU to all Spokane Association of REALTORS® members, affiliates, and friends who were out at Spokane-area Albertsons grocery stores last Thursday and Friday for our annual food drive!
Our effort collected food and cash donations to help Second Harvest stock the shelves of partner food banks serving local neighborhoods.
We're counting pounds of food and dollars donated to the food drive now, and will report how we did this year in a future edition of the Weekly Notices.
If you missed the opportunity to buy a $5 bag at your local Albertsons store during the event (photo above) or make your donation in person, make it online right now with Crowdrise - click on the logo below to enter your donation now:
Remember for every $1 donated, Second Harvest provides 6 pounds of food - the equivalent of 5 meals for hungry people.
The gift of food changes lives and gives people an opportunity to succeed and thrive.
Thank you for your donation!

September is REALTOR® Safety Month
|
SEPTEMBER IS REALTOR® SAFETY MONTH!
NAR is just out with its 2018 Member Safety Report that finds nearly a third of Realtors® experience a situation that makes them fear for their personal safety or the safety of their personal information, and that 43 percent of Realtors® choose to carry self-defense weapons.
The most common circumstances that result in fearful situations are open houses, showing vacant and model homes, working with properties that are unlocked or unsecured, and showing homes in remote areas.
You have a powerful safety tool in your pocket if you have our new Homesnap Pro app - it features a safety timer.
The Homesnap Pro safety timer will automatically email your selected emergency contacts if, for any reason, you can't.

NAR: Moving with Kids
|
Buying and moving into a new home is already a complicated process, but moving with children adds an entirely different set of requirements and stresses.
The National Association of Realtors®'
2018 Moving with Kids report explores the unique needs of homebuyers and sellers with children under 18.
Highlights:
- Fifty percent of buyers with children in the home under the age of 18 years said the quality of the school districts is an important factor when purchasing a home and 45 percent said convenience to schools.
- For buyers with children under the age of 18 years in the home, they purchased larger homes at 2,100 square feet in size with 4 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms.
- For 27 percent of buyers with children, child care expenses delayed the home buying process.
- Compromises that were made by buyers with child care expenses include the size of the home, followed by price, distance from job, condition, and style of home.
