a sisterhood of hearts burning for Christ
Under his GLORY a fire will be kindled like a burning flame ~ Isaiah 10:16c

Seek Him together for a greater outpouring
of revival fires in our hearts!

September 2018

Come
" The Spirit and the bride say, Come!...
let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes, take the water of life without cost" (Rev 22:17).

The invitation is out. The Spirit of the Living God invites us to come! The bride, your community of faith - the women at The Crossing, invite you to come!

Come and gather. Come and seek. Come away and rest in His presence.

Is a retreat about the speaker? Is it about the worship? No...it's about us coming together, seeking Him, as one chorus with a thirst for more of Him!

When Jesus said to the believers to wait together until they were "endued with power from on high" (Luke 24:49), there was nothing extraordinary. It was a crammed upper room, with no music or speakers. So what did they do?

1) They obeyed; they came and waited on Him together.
2) They sought the Lord together; "they all joined together".
3) They prayed, with the same heart cry.

Hearts for revival can be summed up in this: hearts so thirsty, they set time apart to come and seek His face. In this place of hearts joined together, the Spirit has full access to flow in us and through us with living waters!

We need Him to revive us with His power to affect the world around us! Smith Wigglesworth said: "power to witness, power to act, power to live and power to show forth the divine manifestation of God within".

Sisters, don't delay. Come and be part of an opportunity to be together; build the community of faith, encourage others with your life, and seek Him together for a greater outpouring of revival fires in our hearts!

Hearts For Revival - WCUMC Ladies Retreat

The theme of this year's women's conference is Hearts for Revival, but I believe it is so much more than a theme - it's an invitation, an invitation to come and be revived.

The dictionary defines Revive : To bring to life again; to raise from weakness or weariness of body, mind, or discouragement; to rouse, as to revive the Spirit or courage; to renew; to bring into action something that had been laid aside; to refresh with joy or hope; recover, repair, restore to life.

Don't we all at times feel a bit weak, weary, or discouraged? Have you "laid aside" any God dreams that need to be revived? Do you desire to be refreshed with joy and hope? Do you need God's courage to walk through challenging circumstances and relationships? Do you have a heart that just longs to know and love Jesus more?

God is saying, " Come! "

From Genesis to Revelation, God has always been the initiator of relationship. God's invitation to " Come! " is frequently found in Scripture. "The Spirit and the bride say, 'Come!"...let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost'" (Rev 22:17). "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden" (Matt 11:18). "Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare" (Isaiah 55:1-2). Jesus is the "richest of fare"; there is no greater delight than Him, so come!
Our personal response to Jesus' invitation has a ripple effect. Individual hearts are renewed when they experience a touch from the Holy Spirit. Individuals make up a community of faith, and when God supernaturally touches a community of faith, revival occurs. As the revival spreads outward, the wider society is impacted and an awakening occurs in the culture - an awakening to the nature, purposes, and glory of the one true God! Duncan Campbell writes this about revival, "it results in a community saturated with God". I pray that community is us!

So we're praying you can come to this year's women's retreat. Come expectant. Come with hearts for revival!

Bible Study 1: The Names of God
When we read "God", "the Lord", even "the Lord God" in Scripture, we know the word refers to the Supreme Being.......but there is so much more behind the English translation of the actual words used!
Names today differentiate people from each other, link families and heritages, but in Biblical times they also were believed to reveal the essential nature or character of a person. This is especially true for the various Hebrew names that we translate "God".  A rich revelation and understanding of God is possible through studying His names, and in what situations different ones were used. He wants us to know Him and His nature more deeply, and to use the greater access we have to Him, as we learn to pray using His different names.Praying His special names, with the understanding of what the name means, can add power and conviction to our prayer life.
Material will be based on the Bible and books by award-winning Christian authors, Ann Spangler and Kay Arthur. We will study each Name of God, for its deeper meanings, and relevant scriptures that illustrate the character trait of God in that name. We will also have meaningful discussion on what this revelation means to us today, in our walk and in our prayer life.

We encourage one another in prayer, and we rejoice over the answered prayers from God's hand of grace and power!
In studying Gods Word, we find God's will for us! Our end result is to magnify, glorify and praise the Name of the Lord!! For He is good...He is trustworthy and HE IS LORD!!
