January 2019 Exhibit

The Washington County Arts Council, Inc. hosts Mick Williams’ “Suitcase Filled with Light: A Colorful Watercolor Journey” for the month of January 2019. The exhibit opens with a reception to meet the artists on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 5pm-7pm and will continue through January 29, 2019.

New art exhibit opens at the Washington County Chamber of Commerce
Monika Wertman: Anticipation of Grace
 
Monika Wertman is the award-winning artist and owner of Wertman Photography, established in Hagerstown, MD in 2009, located at the edge of downtown.
She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Frostburg State University in Art and Design, is a member of Kappa Pi, International Honorary Arts Fraternity and has had work accepted into several regional art shows, including and most recently The Washington County Arts Council with a solo show in the main gallery space, the Ratner Museum in Bethesda, MD, the Fine Art and Craft fair at the Nassau Museum of Fine Art in New York, the Washington County Museum of Art.
Monika is currently pursuing a Master of Fine Art in Photography at the Academy of Art University in California online. She loves working with people and her first love is still black and white photography as it draws the eye of the viewer to what is important in the frame of the image without distraction of color.

Calling all Washington County Art Educators!
The Washington County Arts Council invites all art educators in Washington County’s public and private schools to enter work for the February 2019 exhibit. This is an invitational exhibition and all work will be accepted. Each educator can submit three works that have been completed within the last two years. Artwork may be dropped off Friday, January 25, 2019 from 11am to 5pm, Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 10am to 4pm, or Tuesday, January 29, 2019 from 11am to 5pm.

The Exhibit will run from January 31, 2019 through February 26, 2019. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2018 from 5pm to 7pm.
