Greetings!

Did you know that many people in our community live paycheck to paycheck and about 25 percent of households in North Central Florida live in poverty?

We all have an idea of what we think homelessness looks like, but the reality is that a lot of people struggle with poverty. That’s why we partnered with the North Central Florida Alliance for the Homeless and Hungry (Alliance) back in July to help more of our residents have access to safe, stable, affordable housing and increased self-sufficiency.

In this partnership, we will be the fiscal agent and the administrator for the Alliance. We’re excited for the opportunity to partner with our Community Impact Partners, government entities, and other local agencies.

But what does United Way being the fiscal agent for the Alliance mean? It means we administer grant funding from several sources, such as the Department of Children and Families and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Your donation to our Community Investment Fund will always go to the programs and agencies that are vetted through our Community Investment Council.

If you’d like more in-depth information on this new partnership, please click the button below to read it from our latest quarterly newsletter.
