HYDE PARK, NY -- The Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum and the Dutchess County Interfaith Story Circle will commemorate the 70th anniversary year of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights with a
"Freedom to Believe" Story Slam on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. Program partners include the Dutchess County Commission on Human Rights, Eleanor Roosevelt Center at Val-Kill, United Nations Association and the Roosevelt-Vanderbilt-Van Buren National Historic Sites. The event will be held in the Henry A. Wallace Center at the FDR Presidential Library and Home.
This is a free public event but registration is required.
Freedom of Worship -- one of President Roosevelt's "four freedoms" -- is the theme for this storytelling program presented by the Dutchess County Interfaith Story Circle. Four featured tellers will share stories with attendees. Upon arrival to the program, audience members can submit proposals to tell a five-minute story of their own. Stories can be true or fictional, traditional or historic. A drawing will be held to select several storytellers from the audience following the featured tellers.
Please contact Cliff Laube at (845) 486-7745 with questions about the event.
