Greetings!

As you and your family get geared up for the fall, First Methodist Conroe wants to help you be the best spiritual leaders you can be in your home.

Our Parent Cue app helps 'cue' you with things to say, do, and think about during the week. All of the content in the app goes along with what your child is learning in church so you can reinforce it in the home.

The app gives weekly cues at four key times all families have in their weekly routine: morning time, drive time, meal time, and bed time. These key family times are found in Deuteronomy 6:7, which says, "Impress these commands on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." To learn more about these key times and the unique role they play in parenting, click here.

The Parent Cue App helps you leverage each of these times to make the most of the time you spend with your kid or teenager. You can download the Parent Cue App at www.theparentcue.org/app,  or pick up the hardcopy 'Parent Cue Card' at the children's or youth Parent Resource Wall.

We hope these resources will help you have the confidence and tools you need to build an everyday faith in your child.

Blessings,

Bryan Moore

Church Camping Trip
Friday, September 21 through Sunday, September 23
Huntsville State Park

FMC is going camping at Sam Houston State Park the weekend of September 21-23. Some folks will be camping the entire weekend and others will be coming up for the day to hang out on Saturday, September 22. You don't have to camp the whole weekend to get in on the family fun!

On Saturday morning beginning around 10:00 a.m., we will have activities for the kids, such as hiking, visiting the nature center, and fishing. You can also rent canoes, swim, and bike on the trails.  Meet-up at 10:00 a.m. at the Nature Center to choose your activity. Then stay for the potluck on Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. After dinner we'll probably have a time of singing around the campfire and smores.

If you come out for the day on Saturday, ask the park ranger when you arrive at the gate for the location of the 'First Methodist Conroe' group. Then, look for the church yard signs marking our church's camping area. The cost for the day is $5 per person and children under 12 get in free.  The park closes at 10:00 p.m. for those not staying the night.

For questions,  contact Rev. Bryan Moore at [email protected] or 936-537-3498.
