And just like that, 1999 was 20. YEARS. AGO. What the heck!? Remember everyone thought the computers were going to crash and there was going to be chaos and anarchy everywhere. Yeah nothing happened. And here we are 20 years later. My husband is still trying to "party like it's 1999," or so he says. :) Well, however you rung in 2019, we hope you had a safe and fun time doing so and we look forward to the New Year with all of you!
We will, of course, kick it off with January and our super Red Hot Buys. Our January sale is "totes" all about storage! We have some amazing deals on locking lid & multipurpose storage totes, starting at $2.99. Stop by or view this month's ad here to save big! As always, you can check out our
calendar
in case you ever need to.
Sincerely,
Tricia Dauwalder-Luna & The Paul's Helpful Hardware Family

It's always fun to freshen up a space and breathe some new life into where you live. A great way to do that is with paint! What would you say if I told you that here at Ace, you can get a discount on paint whenever you are ready to buy, not just when it's on sale? For each Valspar or Clark+Kensington color sample you buy, you will receive one $5 off coupon good on one gallon of Valspar Optimus, Valspar Aspire, Clark+Kensington or Royal paint. No Limit. Just an easy $5 off.
If you're having trouble finding a place to start, check out The Paint Studio @ Ace for the color of the month and some project inspiration!

Protect the P's!
I don't know about you, but I have an incredibly small personal temperature comfort level, just ask my husband. Maybe it's the effects of being a desert rat my entire life, who knows. But it has been COLD lately! So don't forget to be ready to take some winter precautions and protect the four P's:
People
- cover up when you go outside!
Plants
- bring those sensitive potted plants inside or even to your garage against an interior wall for warmth. Cover your outdoor plants with fabric. Frost cloth works great. Do not cover them with a tarp or plastic drop cloths. Extra mulch also helps keep some ground warmth.
Pets
- bring your pets inside. If it's too cold for you, it's too cold for them.
Pipes
- wrap exposed faucets or pipes, consider those in unheated crawl spaces or attics. And yes, pipes have been known to freeze here :)

* Paul Dauwalder opened Paul's Scottsdale Hardware on April 14, 1956, his 10 year Anniversary with his wife Margaret.
* Paul himself went on service calls and loved to re-key locks and fix things.
* We still re-keys locks in-store today. Bring us your current key or we can provide one for you! Free re-key when you buy your locks at Paul's.
