DR. DENIS MUKWEGE OF THE GREATEST SILENCE WINS THE 2018 NOBEL PEACE PRIZE
Congratulations to
Congolese surgeon Denis Mukwege and Yazidi activist Nadia Murad who were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize last week for their courageous campaigns to end the use of mass rape as a weapon of war.
Dr. Mukwege and his hospital are featured in Lisa F. Jackson's THE GREATEST SILENCE: RAPE IN THE CONGO, the first film to report on mass rape in the Congo and the first to feature Dr. Mukwege's work.
Winner of the Sundance Special Jury Prize in Documentary and the inspiration for a 2008 U.N. resolution classifying rape as a weapon of war, this extraordinary film presents the heartbreaking stories of dozens of survivors as well as inspiring examples of resiliency, resistance, courage and grace. the shortlist for Best Documentary Feature.
