Childcare provision during asylum interviews in the UK
-the story of a successful campaign

Winning a campaign to change government policy and practice is rare, but it does happen. 

We are pleased to announce that our campaigning has led to the Home Office providing childcare across the UK for women during their asylum interviews.  This can enable them to give their best evidence and prevents them upsetting their children.  

This campaign involved numerous individuals and NGOs and was facilitated by  Asylum Aid's Women's Project over more than a decade.
