Welcome these new businesses to Thousand Oaks!


Ardalan & Associates, a Law Group, opened a new office located at 3225 Old Conejo Road.
Jaguar/Land Rover just completed the construction of a new dealership building at the Auto Mall located at 3595 Auto Mall Drive.


The Shade Store, specializing in custom window treatments, opened at The Promenade, located at 100 Promenade Way.

Auto Sales

A total of 1,398 new vehicles were sold in November 2018. New vehicles sales decreased by 2.24% from October 2018 and decreased by 21% from a year ago. Additionally, 613 pre-owned vehicles were sold.
Thousand Oaks Unemployment 
According to the California Employment Development Department, Thousand Oaks preliminary November 2018 unemployment rate is 2.7% - down from 2.9% in October 2018. The City has a total of 66,800 in the labor force with 65,000 who are employed.

Ventura County Unemployment
The California Labor Market report revealed that Ventura County's November 2018 unemployment rate of 3.7% was unchanged from a revised 3.7% in October 2018.

A total of 2,300 non-farm jobs were gained in November 2018; however, 700 jobs were lost, for a net gain of 1,600 jobs. 

The loss in jobs includes:
  • 400 in manufacturing
  • 100 in educational and health services
  • 100 in information and
  • 100 in other services.

The gain in jobs includes:

  • 1400 in trade, transportation and utilities 
  • 600 in government and
  • 300 in professional and business services.
